Patents Assigned to TUBOSCOPE VETCO (FRANCE) SAS
  • Patent number: 10676995
Abstract: A tubular element for a drill stem includes a substantially cylindrical body and two tool joints. Each tool joint is disposed at one end of the body and provided with a threaded portion that can be joined to a complementary element. At least one of the tool joints has a lifting surface that can cooperate with a lifting tool of the element to connect it into a drill stem. The lifting surface has a non-circular cross-section forming an activation zone for a drilling fluid.

  • Patent number: 10563466
Abstract: A threaded connection including first and second tubular components configured for exploration or operating a hydrocarbon well; the first tubular component including an external abutment, a male threaded connection portion extended by a non-threaded terminal portion defining an internal abutment at its axial end; the second tubular component including a female end defining at a free end a bearing surface forced against the external abutment, a female threaded connection portion made up with the male threaded connection portion and terminating in an internal shoulder forced against the internal abutment, an initial non-threaded portion connecting the female threaded connection portion to the internal shoulder, which includes a maximum radial interference locally forming a sealing surface located between the male threaded connection portion and the internal abutment, and located at a non-zero distance from the internal abutment, the distance being more than half of an axial distance of the terminal portion.

  • Patent number: 10465450
Abstract: An electromagnetic coupler includes first and second coupling elements for mounting on respective first and second support elements. The first and second coupling elements include respective first and second annular bodies each including a high magnetic permeability material that houses a conductive winding and an open transverse section. The first and second bodies have complementary shapes that when two support elements respectively receiving the first and second coupling elements are coupled, the first and second bodies form a structure enclosing the first and second conductive windings. The first and second conductive windings are respectively positioned in the first and second bodies such that respective surfaces of the first and second conductive windings are substantially parallel when two support elements respectively receiving the first and second coupling elements are coupled.

  • Patent number: 10227831
Abstract: A threaded connection for drilling or working hydrocarbon wells includes first and second tubular components with an axis of revolution, each including respective male and female ends. At least one of the male or female ends finishes in a terminal surface including a first abutment surface that can come into interfering contact when the connection is made against a second abutment surface provided on a shoulder produced on an opposing tubular component male or female end. At least one of the first and second abutment surfaces is hollowed out by a groove, defining an exterior abutment zone and an interior abutment zone. In the connection made state, the exterior and interior abutment zones are not coplanar, such that contact pressure of the interior abutment zone exerted in a vicinity of the groove is greater than or equal to a minimum value for contact pressure exerted in the exterior abutment zone.

  • Patent number: 10202810
Abstract: A drill-string liner element includes at least one hardbanding layer. The hardbanding layer includes one or more strands of filler metal, each having a width between 1 and 5 millimeters and deposited in adjacent manner to form a substantially continuous layer over a zone of the element. The hardness in the thickness of the layer varies by less than 10 HRC over the zone.

  • Patent number: 10145182
Abstract: A landing pipe includes a first tool joint, a second tool joint, and a main section extending from the first tool joint to the second tool joint, the main section having a first portion and a second portion. The first tool joint outer diameter is greater than both the main section first portion outer diameter and the main section second portion outer diameter. The main section first portion wall thickness is greater than the main section second portion wall thickness, and the main section second portion has a length range of 40% to 85% of an overall length of the landing pipe.
