Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for presenting media streams based on changes in geolocation. A MapView system may receive a first positioning signal indicating a first geographical location of a user device. The MapView system may determine a first media stream to be presented by the user device based on the first geographical location and a location of a source of the first media stream. The MapView system may then facilitate a presentation of the first media stream by the user device. When the MapView system receives a second positioning signal indicating a second geographical location of the user device, the MapView may identify, a second media stream to be presented by the user device based on the second geographical location being in broadcast range of the second media stream. The MapView system may then facilitate a presentation of the second media stream by the user device.

Abstract: A system and method for providing crowd sourced metrics for broadcast content providers. For determinations of such metrics, user consumption of broadcast content in multiple streams by multiple content providers may be monitored and user consumption information regarding the broadcast content may be obtained. One or more content consumption metrics may be determined to quantify individual user consumption of the broadcast content. Audience metrics may be determined, for a content provider, to inform about users that are available to consume broadcast content provided by the content provider. Events within the broadcast content may be determined and event information regarding individual user consumption of the broadcast content at the event may be obtained. Event metrics may be determined based on the obtained event information to inform about consumption of the broadcast content at the event by users.

Abstract: An approach for facilitating providing personalized recommendations for streaming of broadcast content is provided. Content identifications are obtained for individual sets of broadcast content being streamed separately over the Internet simultaneously by multiple content providers. One or more recommendations of broadcast content is presented to the user based on the user's content preference profile, one or more ambient conditions associated with the user, online social interactions and/or content of the user, and/or other sets of broadcast content being streamed over the Internet.

A method of streaming content distribution includes creating data on streaming content; creating data on network locations of streaming content; creating data on access characteristics; locating a source of streaming content with a with a streaming content guide; and starting playback of streaming content from the source of streaming content. A streaming content distribution system includes a streaming content guide through which a user locates a source of streaming content and starts playback of streaming content; data on streaming content; data on network locations of streaming content; and data on access characteristics.

Abstract: A metadata guide of audio, video, multimedia transmission, receiving and playback with advertising and bi-directional fulfillment of goods and services over the Internet includes the use of user and stream demographics. A streaming content distribution system includes a a server to a) stream content based on i) user demographics and ii) historical and real time stream demographics from a plurality of streaming content sources and b) stream advertisements based on user demographics selected by advertisers, commercial agreements and access control rules from a plurality of streaming advertisement sources before, during, and after playback of streaming content from the server over the internet to a user device including a central processing unit and a physical user interface; and a guide including metadata not input by the users for the user device to locate streaming content on the server.
