Patent number: 4284968Abstract: An adjustable electromagnetic tripping mechanism for a circuit-breaker, includes in each pole, a fixed magnetic circuit excited by the current passing through the said pole. A movable magnetic member is held by the force of a return spring against a stop at a predetermined distance from the fixed magnetic circuit. A movable adjusting element bears the stop and includes a point of support or of attachment of the said return spring, which enables the limiting operating current of the circuit-breaker to be varied. The movement of the said movable adjusting element modifies at the same time and in the same sense of variation, firstly the distance predetermined by the stop between the movable magnetic member and the fixed magnetic circuit, and secondly the force exerted by the return spring upon the movable magnetic member. The invention is characterized in that the movable adjusting element consists of a small plate of generally plane form guided in translation in slides.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1979Date of Patent: August 18, 1981Assignee: Alsthom-UnelecInventors: Serge Denoyelle, Pierre Noisette

Patent number: 4234862Abstract: A polyphase sector type transformer includes one magnetic core ring per phase, each of which has two rectilinear sides which are adjacent to each other. Each rectilinear side of one magnetic core ring is disposed contiguously with one of the rectilinear sides of an adjacent core ring whereby each magnetic core ring occupies a sector of the magnetic circuit of the transformer. Each pair of contiguous rectilinear sides is threaded through a coil of the transformer said coils comprising a high tension winding of trapezoidal cross-section and a low tension winding of rectangular cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 1978Date of Patent: November 18, 1980Assignee: Alsthom-UnelecInventor: Gerard Prevotat

Patent number: 4165453Abstract: A switch in which if the contacts of the switch are lightly stuck together the switch control can still separate them, but if the contacts are firmly stuck together then the switch control cannot be moved to the "off" position which would give a dangerously erroneous indication of the state of the circuit switched. A two arm locking lever is pivotally mounted and has a first stop constituted by a spring into which one of the arms penetrates, and a second stop constituted by a pivot axis of the device.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1977Date of Patent: August 21, 1979Assignee: Societe Anonyme dite: UNELECInventor: Jean Hennemann

Patent number: 4137435Abstract: The invention relates to a load limiter for lifting apparatus which triggers an electric signal when a vertical tensile stress exceeds a predetermined threshold, the constitution of said load limiter allowing a smaller lost height. The limiter according to the invention is characterized by the fact that it comprises two blocks which extend horizontally on either side of a a narrow common portion which forms a pivot so as to delimit a free space extending between the two essentially vertical facing surfaces of said blocks and at whose open end said elastic system is disposed horizontally and in that two fixed supports are provided on either side of said common portion to bend said load limiter. Application to electrical lifting devices such as hoists.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 1978Date of Patent: January 30, 1979Assignee: Societe Anonyme dite: Alsthom-UnelecInventor: Georges Redon

Patent number: 4130814Abstract: A tripping device of a circuit-breaker is detachable so as to be able to cover ranges of excess currents with a small number of calibers each represented by an interchangeable tripping device. For this purpose, the magnetic excess current detection circuits are made in two detachable parts, one fixed to the tripping device, the other installed floating on the housing of the device to be controlled whose interchangeability permits the automatic changing of the magnetic characteristics of the tripping device.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1977Date of Patent: December 19, 1978Assignee: UNELEC S.A.Inventor: Michel Bruchet

Patent number: 4129762Abstract: The mechanism enables normal separation of the contacts when the handle is moved, even if the contacts are lightly welded together. This prevents the handle from moving if they are solidly welded together. A toggle joint is included between the drive member for the moving contacts and the automatic trip mechanism. The shaft of the toggle is engaged in an opening in an articulated arm.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1977Date of Patent: December 12, 1978Assignee: Societe Anonyme dite: UNELECInventor: Michel Bruchet
-
Patent number: 4066922Abstract: Electrical motor-control device for electrical equipment comprising a drive mechanism including an electric motor and a movement transformation mechanism including an endless screw on which is installed a linearly displaceable nut connected with slight play to an operating member of the electrical equipment. A torque limiter is inserted between the drive mechanism and the movement transformation mechanism. The torque limiter comprises a disk made of rough material integral with a worm screw and has component parts in the form of segments of a ring connected by springs clamping the said disk made of friction material. Applications: remote control of electric circuit-breakers.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1976Date of Patent: January 3, 1978Assignee: Unelec S.A.Inventors: Jean Hennemann, Bernard Daussin

Patent number: 4061993Abstract: Tripping devices, more particularly for circuit-breakers, in which a single model tripping device can be transformed by a simple operation, not requiring any dismantling, to obtain either a shunt or undervoltage type of operation. This result can be obtained by changing the relative position of a catch part of the striker, for example by rotation through 180 degrees in relation to a locking part.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1976Date of Patent: December 6, 1977Assignee: Unelec S.A.Inventor: Jean Hennemann

Patent number: 3976851Abstract: Load limiter making it possible to set off an electric signal subsequent to a tensile stress exceeding a certain maximum value. It is based on the principle of rotation by axial stretching of a twisted part, the said rotation deplacing an armature of an electric contact switch.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1975Date of Patent: August 24, 1976Assignee: UnelecInventor: Georges Redon
