Patent number: 5826682Abstract: A disk brake assembly for a trailer includes a rotor, inner and outer brake pads, a mounting bracket, upper and lower pad retention assemblies, a caliper assembly and a clamping arm. The rotor is a disk having the inner and outer brake pads positioned on opposite sides thereof. The mounting bracket, in cooperation with the upper and lower pad retention assemblies, maintains the position of the inner and outer brake pads relative to the rotor. The mounting bracket has a body with an upper arm and a lower arm extending therefrom. The upper arm has a downwardly-facing guide surface and the lower arm has an upwardly-facing guide surface. Each pad retention assembly includes an engagement sleeve, a clamping arm coupling and a pair of "U"-shaped spring sections connecting the engagement sleeve and clamping arm coupling. The upper engagement sleeve is mounted on the guide surface of the upper arm and the lower engagement sleeve is mounted on the guide surface of the lower arm.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1996Date of Patent: October 27, 1998Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventor: Bernhardt P. Patent number: 5054859Abstract: A grease pressurizing hubcap for a wheel hub including a barrel press fit in the hub. A plastic piston disposed in the barrel and movable between inner and outer annular abutments in the barrel, the outer abutment being formed by an inward turned, reverse bent flange and the inner abutment being formed by a polygon-shaped split ring set in an annular groove in the interior of the barrel. A compression spring acting between the piston and the outer annular abutment normally pressing the piston to an inner position. A lubricating fitting set in the piston to fill the barrel on the inner side of the piston and to act against the compression spring to pressurize grease in the hub. A colored annular outer flange on the piston withdrawn into the barrel in the absence of pressurized grease and extending outwardly from the barrel in the presence of pressurized grease to visually indicate the grease pressure level conditions in the hub.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1990Date of Patent: October 8, 1991Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventor: Bernhardt P. Patent number: 5040816Abstract: An actuator/coupler having concealed rollers between forward coupler attaching to the towing vehicle and rear housing connected to trailer. Forward rollers bear on the underside of the top wall of the rear housing. The rear rollers bear on the underside of the top wall of the coupler. A hydraulic cylinder block is counterbored and the rear rollers have annular extensions fitting into the counterbores for roller support during assembly. Rests are provided under front rollers for roller support during assembly. A piston rod in the hydraulic cylinder extending forwardly through a pivotal latching wall having a clutching opening normally only letting the piston rod move rearwardly and locking against forward movement and a spring pressing the latching wall to locking position.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1991Date of Patent: August 20, 1991Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventor: Bernhardt P. Patent number: 4817979Abstract: A trailer coupler having a ball-receiving cavity formed by a stationary and a movable ball-gripping member. A movable abutment at the edge of the cavity adapted to be displaced by the ball of a towing vehicle hitch entering the ball-receiving cavity. Before the movable abutment is displaced, it prevents movement of the coupler operating handle to locked position. When the movable abutment is displaced, the operating handle is able to move to locked position and to move the movable ball-gripping member to secure the ball in the ball-receiving cavity. A latch securing the operating handle in locked position until a movable latch piece is moved to unlatched position.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1988Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventor: Bernhardt P. Goettker

Patent number: 4531731Abstract: A body-supporting bed pivotally supported on a frame and juxtaposed circular plates controlling pivoting of the bed by a series of locking openings in a first plate, by a locking pin on a second plate, and by an abutment pin on a third plate disposed in arcuate slots in the first and second plates. A foot-supporting boom supported to extend an adjustable distance from the foot of the bed and a pair of adjustable spaced padded ankle-securing tubes on the end of the boom and a latch for the tubes including a push rod operated latch piece, the push rod having a knob disposed between the legs of the user.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 1984Date of Patent: July 30, 1985Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventor: Denny B. Patent number: 4514132Abstract: Trailer, for two or more vehicles such as motorcycles or three-wheelers, having a narrow tongue extending forwardly from a broad platform, the tongue adapted to support the front wheel of one vehicle in position disposed mostly forward of the platform, a tube outlying and above the tongue and body having fittings for attachments of vehicle tie-down straps. A pivotally mounted rear loading ramp is formed by a first tube bent into a U-shape and formed by one or two other tubes parallel to the base of the U-shape and secured to the arms of the U-shape and legs extending laterally from the base of the U-shape, in an oblique plane, to support the base above ground in the down position of the ramp.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1983Date of Patent: April 30, 1985Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventors: Denny B. Patent number: 4500113Abstract: Swing axles connected to a transverse rear axle housing by precision pivot assemblies formed in a pair of small vertical plates secured to front and back of the axle housing. Rubber pivot and spring members are received in the inverted U-shaped cross-section of the axle housing and have rests bearing on the middles of the swing axles. The rubber members form pivots for the swing axles and the rests accept fore and aft loadings of the swing axles.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1983Date of Patent: February 19, 1985Assignee: Unique Functional ProductsInventor: Denny B.
