Abstract: A method of installing a combination door unit into a threshold of a house, comprising placing a combination door unit within a threshold opening of a house surrounded by a plurality of house frame studs. The combination door unit comprises a door frame, a threshold door hingedly coupled to the door frame, and a secondary door. The secondary door is hingedly coupled to a mounting frame and the mounting frame, the door frame, and the plurality of house frame studs are aligned when the combination door unit is placed within the threshold opening. The method of installing the combination door unit may also comprise the steps of leveling the combination door unit, removing the secondary door from the combination door unit, driving a plurality of fasteners through the mounting frame, through the door frame, and into the house frame studs, and replacing the secondary door on the combination door unit.

The body may also include one or more tracks on one of the side walls and one or more drill guide holes extending through each of the two side walls. The arm is configured to removably couple to the body at the track, and includes a striker plate template, a handle, one or more rails, and one or more supports. The striker plate template includes a plurality of striker holes that extending the striker plate. The one or more rails are shaped to slidably engaged with the one or more rails of the body. The support extends between the handle and the rail.

The door frame may include four side members and a freeze bar extending two opposing side members. The freeze bar may also divide a first portion of the door frame from a second portion of the door frame. A glass section may be coupled over the first portion of the door frame, and a screen section may be coupled over the second portion of the door frame. The self-storing glass sub-assembly may be coupled to the door frame included two protruding tracks. Each protruding track may include a channel and be positioned on an interior edge of opposing side members. At least two opposing side members may also include a recessed track on an interior edge. Each recessed track may include a channel between the protruding track and the respective side member.

The frame comprises an opening through the frame, the opening comprising a depth and at least two channels disposed in parallel around an inner surface of the depth. At least two removable frame inserts are provided, each comprising a front surface, a rear surface, and an insert perimeter comprising a plurality of recesses positioned about the perimeter. A plurality of twisting cams are each disposed within one of the plurality of recesses and not extending beyond the front and rear surfaces, and the at least two frame inserts are each held in a fixed position with respect to the frame via placement of the twisting cams within the at least two channels.
