Patent number: 7896171Abstract: A gravity feed shelving system is provided in which specially configured tiers contain necked-down channels for the receiving, storing and dispensing of series of flexible packages such as flex bags. Each channel is configured with relatively wide receiving and dispensing portions at the rear and front of the tier, respectively, and a narrowed intermediate portion that partially compresses the flex bags and restrains them against their removal from the channel until the flex bag passes from the intermediate portion into the dispensing portion. The tier has an operatively sloped orientation so that, once placed within the receiving portion of the channel, each flex bag is urged along the channel and into the intermediate portion by the force of its own weight.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2007Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Universal Display & Fixtures CompanyInventor: Joseph M. Patent number: 5531159Abstract: A pull-out drop down grocery shelf structure has slotted sliding brackets and stationary brackets. A shelf is fixed at each side to a sliding bracket which is slidingly supported on a stationary bracket. The stationary brackets project outwardly from wail supports. The shelf can be pulled out, pivoted down at an angle and supported by connectors which slide in the respective slots of the two brackets so that the product displayed can be pulled forward without disturbing the arrangement. Fresher product can be stocked behind the older product without unloading the shelf. The shelf is pivoted up and slid back against the wall after fresh product is stocked on the shelf. Both brackets can be economically stamped from fiat stock and employed universally as a left or fight side bracket for a shelf without any change to the bracket or its assembly.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1994Date of Patent: July 2, 1996Assignee: Universal Display & Fixtures CompanyInventor: Reggie W.
