Application of a chemical composition for viscosity modification of heavy and extra-heavy crude oils
Patent number: 9790446Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a chemical composition to modify the physical properties (viscosity and interfacial tension) of heavy and extra-heavy crude oils, to increase their mobility. The chemical composition comprises or consists of a combination of systems based on ionic and non-ionic liquids, which may be pure or modified, mixed in an aqueous or organic medium as a dispersing agent, depending on the nature of the crude to be treated, together with a surfactant. The composition is mixed with the crude oil at a temperature between 5 and 100° C., at pressures from 1 atm (14.7 psi) up to about 680.2 atm (10,000 psi). The composition can be mixed with heavy crude oils, at the point of extraction from the well in the field, during the transport of crude oil in pipelines, or in the well discharge pipelines.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2014Date of Patent: October 17, 2017Assignees: INSTITUTO MEXICANO DEL PERTOLEO, UNIVERSIDAD DE GUANAJUATOInventors: Alma Delia Miranda Olvera, Jose Manuel Dominguez Esquivel, Ricardo Garcia Chavez, Miguel Angel Vazquez Guevara -

Patent number: 8796450Abstract: A family of three 8-alkyl boron dipyrromethenes 1, 2, and 3 has been prepared. These compounds are characterized by emission in the green region of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum and exhibit an almost double laser efficiency than other commercial dyes and much greater photostability. The 8-alkyl boron dipyrromethenes are prepared by catalytic hydrogenation (reduction) of the corresponding 8-alkenyl boron dipyrromethenes, which are obtained by Liebeskind-Srogl coupling of thiomethylboron dipyrromethene with an alkenyl boronic acid.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2013Date of Patent: August 5, 2014Assignee: Universidad de GuanajuatoInventors: Eduardo Peña Cabrera, Ismael Javier Arroyo Cordova, Fabiola Irene Lopez Vallejo

Patent number: 8710220Abstract: A family of six 8-amino boron dipyrromethenes having Formulas 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 has been prepared. The presence of the amine group alters the emission properties of the boron dipyrromethene, such that these compounds are characterized by unexpected blue fluorescence, providing for potential use as lasers. The compound having formula 1 has very high quantum yield. The 8-amino boron dipyrromethenes are prepared in a straightforward, high yield synthesis by substituting an amine group for the thiomethyl group at the 8 position in 8-thiomethyl boron dipyrromethene. The compounds having Formulas 6 and 7 may be used to incorporate peptides and proteins, thus providing biomolecules marked with fluorescent fragments.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2010Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Assignee: Universidad de GuanajuatoInventors: Eduardo Peña Cabrera, César Fernando Azael, Juan Orlando Flores

Patent number: 8551374Abstract: The invention relates to a novel, innovative industrial method for producing polystyrene (EPS) foam parts of arbitrary length and having a constant cross-section, with mixed densities located in accordance with the mechanical and thermal properties required for each application. The invention also relates to a machine (apparatus) for producing said solid parts having localized densities defined by the mechanical and thermal requirements of the application. The aforementioned products are produced by joined both longitudinally and transversely. The invention can be used to reduce the standard method to three steps, thereby resulting in a significant saving in terms of production. Moreover, unlike with the standard method, variants can be produced using the above-mentioned method, thereby increasing the range of application said type of products.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2007Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Universidad de GuanajuatoInventors: Héctor Plascencia Mora, Luz Antonio Aguilera Cortés

Patent number: 8159753Abstract: An optical lens which, in a controlled manner, and without altering either the resolution or luminous capture, helps to extend the depth of field of any other optical system. The optical lens of the present invention is composed of two optical lenses that form a pair. Each of the lenses of the pair produces a change of optical path with a symmetrical distribution. If there is no relative displacement, the lenses of the pair generate an optical path difference equal to zero. When there is relative displacement, the lenses of the pair generate a change of optical path with asymmetric distribution, which helps to extend the depth of field without reducing either the resolution or luminous capture. The optical lens of this invention, in the form of an optical pair, serves any other optical system to capture images without loss of modulation, but with attenuated modulation which can be retrieved with digital processing algorithms known in the art.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2010Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Universidad de GuanajuatoInventors: Jorge Ojeda Castaneda, Eduardo Aguilera Gomez, Hector Plascencia Mora, Miguel Torres Cisneros, Elias Rigoberto Ledesma Orozco, Alejandro Leon Martinez, Jose Sergio Pacheco Santamaria, Juan Gerardo Martinez Castro, Roberto Carlos Salas Segoviano
