  • Publication number: 20070282213
Abstract: A method and apparatus for assessing extravascular lung water volume (EVLW) of a patient after lung resection is adapted to provide a transpulmonary thermodilution curve, is capable to derive the patient's intrathoracic thermal volume (ITTV) and approximated intrathoracic blood volume (ITBVapprox) from the transpulmonary thermodilution curve, and is capable to determine the extravascular lung water volume (EVLW) by correcting by the degree of lung resection (c), wherein making use of the equation EVLW=f(ITTV, ITBVapprox, c), or EVLW=f(ITTV, GEDV, c).

  • Publication number: 20070179386
Abstract: Apparatus for evaluating a mechanically ventilated patient's hemodynamic status, adapted to provide a respiratory variation diagram of a hemodynamic variable, and being capable of deriving the value of a hemodynamic parameter for each mechanical breath cycle as well as an assessment of its suitability for the hemodynamic analysis on basis of the respiratory variation diagram. A method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070142729
Abstract: An injection system for injecting an injectate fluid into a blood vessel of the patient and for carrying out a blood pressure measurement of a patient. The injection system includes a catheter tube having a first end for penetrating the blood vessel of the patient, and a pressure sensor which is arranged close to a second end of the catheter tube and can sense a pressure of a liquid in the catheter tube as an indication of the blood pressure of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20070135716
Abstract: An apparatus for determining a patient's circulatory fill status is adapted to provide a dilution curve and is capable to derive the ratio between the patient's global end-diastolic volume GEDV and the patient's intra thoracic thermo volume ITTV from the dilution curve. Further, a computer program for determining a patient's circulatory fill status has instructions adapted to carry out the steps of generating the dilution curve on basis of provided measurement data of dilution versus time, deriving the ratio between the patient's global end-diastolic volume GEDV and the patient's intra thoracic thermo volume ITTV from the dilution curve, and determining the patient's circulatory fill status on basis of the ratio between the patient's global end-diastolic volume GEDV and the patient's intra thoracic thermo volume ITTV, when the computer program is run on a computer. A method is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20070088216
Abstract: An injection channel for a blood vessel catheter for injecting an injectate fluid into a blood vessel of a patient for carrying out thermodilution orother dilution measurements in order to determine hemodynamic parameters of the patient. The injection channel includes a pressure sensor for sensing the central venous pressure of the patient wherein. The pressure sensor also senses a threshold of pressure in the injection channel as instants of begin and end of an injection process.
