  • Patent number: 11618295
Abstract: A system and method are provided for configuring suspension ratios in a multi-rear axle vehicle, the vehicle having a drive axle suspension and at least one tag axle suspension, each suspension having one or more air springs. The timing of the performance of an adjustment cycle series of steps for adjusting the suspension height and air spring pressure readings is optimized by monitoring the acceleration of the vehicle and conducting the adjustment cycle steps when the vehicle acceleration is below an acceleration threshold. Additionally, air spring pressure adjustments may be scaled based on a confidence factor of the air spring pressure readings. Finally, a method is provided for configuring suspension ratios in a multi-rear axle vehicle, the vehicle having a drive axle suspension and at least one tag axle suspension, and for adjusting the air suspension pressures.

  • Patent number: 11155146
Abstract: An automated tarping device and system is provided, wherein the at least two swing arm devices of the tarping system are configured to be enclosed within the side walls and frame of the trailer, when the automated tarping system is in a fully closed position so as to cover the opening of the trailer with the tarp assembly. When the system is in a closed position, the swing arm devices themselves are covered by the tarp. The system also includes a tarp assembly comprising a flexible tarp and first and second resilient actuating ribs. The attaching member of each swing arm device releasably couples to an actuating rib, and the tarp and the first and second actuating ribs of the tarp assembly are transversely disposed across, so as to cover, the opening of the trailer when the arm devices are in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 9452655
Abstract: A ride height control system includes a velocity monitor, corner ride height sensors, a processor receiving height inputs from the height sensors and velocity inputs from the velocity monitor. A cross-flow averager cooperates between the front airbags and is in communication with the processor. The cross-flow averager and the processor cooperate with the height sensors corresponding to the front corners, so as to provide a single pseudo height controller controlling, by selective actuation of the cross-flow averager, airflow between the corresponding front corners. The velocity monitor monitors forward velocity of the vehicle and provides velocity information to the processor. The processor causes the cross-flow averager to isolate the front airbags when the velocity is above a non-zero pre-set velocity and to allow a cross-flow of the airflow between the front airbags below the pre-set velocity. The pre-set velocity may be a range of velocities.

  • Patent number: 7874604
Abstract: An apparatus for moving a slide-out compartment of a vehicle. The slide-out compartment is slidably received in an opening in the side of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a rotatable member having a distal end wherein the rotatable member is rotatably mounted to one of the slide-out or the opening so as to rotate the member about a horizontal axis parallel to a first plane substantially containing the opening. A drive rotates the rotatable member. A slotted bearing portion is mounted to the other one of the slide-out or the opening. Rotation of the rotatable member causes the distal end to bear against so as to slide along the slot in the bearing portion to selectively extend or retract the slide-out compartment relative to the vehicle. The rotatable member and drive may be mounted adjacent to the opening in the vehicle wherein the bearing portion is mounted in an end wall of the slide-out.

  • Patent number: 7407189
Abstract: Microprocessors read the tilt of a vehicle as indicated by lateral and longitudinal tilt sensors, and predict the amount of jack actuation needed to level the vehicle. Once an attempt is made to level the vehicle, the system may pause for a configurable amount of time to allow the oscillations of the vehicle to subside. Once the vehicle motion, if any, has stopped, the tilt angles of the vehicle are once again checked and any further actuation of the jacks is taken to fine tune the attitude of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7066474
Abstract: The suspension and level control system for vehicles includes, so as to independently control inflation and deflation of left and right front and rear air-springs, corresponding left and right front and rear pneumatic circuits in fluid communication with a pressurized air source. Each air-spring may have at least one air ride cushion reservoir mounted in a parallel pneumatic circuit in parallel fluid communication with the air-spring. Each pneumatic circuit includes a selectively actuable valve for selectively passing pressurized air from the air source into the corresponding parallel pneumatic circuit to selectively inflate the corresponding air-spring thereby raising a corresponding corner of the vehicle; and for selectively venting pressurized air from the corresponding parallel pneumatic circuit to selectively deflate the corresponding air-spring, thereby lowering a corresponding corner of the vehicle.
