Publication number: 20040082946Abstract: An electrosurgical generator apparatus controls a variable output signal to electrodes. The generator apparatus operates in a cut mode, a coagulation mode or a stimulate mode. The generator apparatus comprises a DC power supply that provides regulated low voltage and high voltage outputs and a radio frequency (RF) waveform generator circuit that provides pulse duration modulation (PDM) of a carrier signal. The carrier signal directly affects the variable output signal to the electrodes. A control circuit controls a variable output signal to electrodes used in electrosurgical procedures. The control circuit comprises a DC power supply circuit that provides regulated low voltage and high voltage outputs and an RF waveform generator circuit that provides pulse duration modulation of a carrier signal. The carrier signal directly affects the variable output signal to the electrodes.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2002Publication date: April 29, 2004Applicant: Valley Forge ScientificInventors: Jerry L. Patent number: 6702861Abstract: A process for antiquing fabric and fabrics produced are disclosed. The process achieves a worn, distressed, and faded look to the fabric. The process may be used for creating fabrics having an antiqued, worn or weathered look. In the process, the fabric is treated with a dispersant leveling agent, the treated fabric is dyed and the dyed fabric is rinsed with a softener. The fabric may be bagged during the process to assist in achieving the antiqued look.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2002Date of Patent: March 9, 2004Assignee: Valley ForgeInventors: Stanley Trask, Tibor Egervary

Patent number: 5855061Abstract: A method is provided for making an electrode tip for use in a bipolar electrosurgical instrument from a single flat blank of metal. The method uses a photo chemical machining process. The resultant electrode tip has a generally loop shaped working portion. Use of the flat blank of metal results in electrodes having working portions with sharp edges in cross-section. The working portions emit concentrated energy in the radial direction.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1997Date of Patent: January 5, 1999Assignee: Valley Forge Scientific CorporationInventors: Jerry L. Patent number: 5465712Abstract: Briefly stated, the present invention comprises a resuscitation mask for administering artificial respiration to a patient. The respiration mask has a container for defining an interior region between the container and the face of the patient. Two conduits are provided through the container wall in order to define two air flow passageways which are in fluid communication with the internal region. A valve is disposed in one air flow passageway for permitting air flow into the internal region and preventing air flow from the internal region. A vent is provided to reduce pressure within the internal region in response to an increase in pressure within the internal region. The container is generally cup-shaped and, in the preferred embodiment, it is formed with a cylindrical member coupled to the one-way air flow conduit. The other airflow passageway is adapted to be detachably coupled to an oxygen source.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1993Date of Patent: November 14, 1995Assignee: Valley Forge Scientific CorporationInventors: Jerry Malis, Jonathan J. Patent number: 5350549Abstract: Cementitious compositions useful as lightweight aggregates are formed from a blend of spent bed material from fluidized bed combustion and fly ash. The proportions of the blend are chosen so that ensuing reactions eliminate undesirable constituents. The blend is then mixed with water and formed into a shaped article. The shaped article is preferably either a pellet or a "brick" shape that is later crushed. The shaped articles are cured at ambient temperature while saturated with water. It has been found that if used sufficiently, the resulting aggregate will exhibit minimal dimensional change over time. The aggregate can be certified by also forming standardized test shapes, e.g., cylinders while forming the shaped articles and measuring the properties of the test shapes using standardized techniques including X-ray diffraction.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1993Date of Patent: September 27, 1994Assignee: Valley Forge Laboratories, Inc.Inventor: Michael J.
