  • Patent number: 6439252
Abstract: An apparatus and method for automatically producing a desired specific gravity of a salt solution used for deicing highways. Highway departments can produce a high volume of salt solution of a desired specific gravity by a machine that automatically feeds salt and water into a hopper tank to produce brine, then automatically measures and adjusts the specific gravity of the brine by adding greater or lesser amounts of fresh water to the brine removed from the hopper tank. The salt added to the hopper tank contains impurities, which are removed by self-cleaning strainers. The sediment so removed flows to a trash tank. Sediment in the trash tank settles to the bottom thereof and the liquid collected is filtered by another set of self-cleaning strainers such that liquid from the trash tank can be sent to the hopper tank. The device automatically records the specific gravity of the solution produced.

  • Patent number: 5072558
Abstract: A tendon tensioning anchor comprising a base member having a tubular section extending therefrom, a plastic encapsulation in surface-to-surface contact with the exterior of the base member, and a heat shield fastened within the plastic encapsulation adjacent an end of a tubular section extending outwardly from the base member. The plastic encapsulation opens at the end of this tubular section opposite the base member. The plastic encapsulation further comprises a tubular portion formed at the side of the base member opposite the tubular section and extends outwardly perpendicular to the base member. The heat shield is a rigid member having an outer diameter corresponding to the outer diameter of the tubular section. The heat shield has an interior surface formed therein for receiving a portion of a sealing cap. The present invention also includes an extension tubing fitted to the end of the tubular portion of the plastic encapsulation.

  • Patent number: 4896470
Abstract: A tendon tensioning anchor comprising a base member with a tubular section extending therefrom and a plastic encapsulation in air-tight juxtaposition with the exterior of the base member and the exterior of the tubular section. The plastic encapsulation opens at the end of the tubular section opposite the base member. A tubular portion is formed at the side of the base member opposite the tubular section. This extends outwardly perpendicular to the base member and has a diameter sufficient for receiving a tendon. A receiving area is formed adjacent the end of the tubular section and extends outwardly therefrom so as to receive a sealing cap. The plastic enclosure comprises high density polyethylene in an injection-molded relationship with the base member and the tubular section. The plastic enclosure is of unitary construction and in an electrolytic relation with a tendon extending therethrough. A plurality of reinforcing rib members extend outwardly from th exterior of the tubular section to the base member.
