Patent number: 10744523Abstract: A mixing and dispensing apparatus having first and second containers. The first container has a main body portion which retains a first substance. A separate compartment is located in the first container and an internal passageway is formed between the main body portion and the compartment. The second container is configured to retain a second substance, and is compressible. The second container has a top end and a closed spout, wherein the closed spout is located in the compartment with the spout extending through the internal passageway into the main body portion of said first container. A release mechanism is formed by a plunger extending within the second container. The plunger has a first end in communication with the top end of the second container, and a second end aligned with the closed spout. The second end opens the closed spout when the second container is compressed to release the second substance into the main body portion of the first container.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2019Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventors: Arthur L. Patent number: 10729795Abstract: A method for sterilizing a concentrated composition and a diluent. The diluent is contained in a large container, and the concentrated composition is contained in a small container that is positioned within the large container. The combined containers are placed in at least one sealing layer that is hermetically sealed, and is also preferably placed in a second sealing layer that is also hermetically sealed. The bagged container is then placed in a carton, which preferably has a liner, and the carton is closed. The carton is then irradiation sterilized. The carton is delivered to the clean room. At a first staging area, the carton is opened and the bagged container is removed and brought to a second staging area. At the second staging area, the second sealing layer is removed and the container can be stored in the first sealing layer. The container is brought into the clean environment, where the first sealing layer is removed.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2004Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventor: Arthur L. Patent number: 10732081Abstract: An air sampling device samples air in a controlled environment. The device includes a housing body having a top and a side. An opening is located at the top of the housing body. A retaining assembly retains a sampling device and atrium. The retaining assembly is located at the top of the housing body about the opening. A plenum has a top end and a bottom end, with the top end coupled to the top of the housing body about the opening so that the plenum is in flow communication with the opening. A mass flow meter has an input and an output, with the input coupled to the bottom end of the plenum and in flow communication with the bottom end of the plenum. A blower is located inside the plenum and is configured to draw air past the sampling device, through the opening, through the plenum, and through the mass flow meter. The mass flow meter detects a flow rate of air through the mass flow meter.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2016Date of Patent: August 4, 2020Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventors: Nathan G. Patent number: 10677691Abstract: A system and method for sampling air in a controlled environment that includes two or more air sampling devices at different locations within the controlled environment. A controller is provided at a location outside of the controlled environment and in separate air flow communication with each of the two or more air sampling devices via separate first vacuum tubes, the controller having a manifold configured to separately control a rate of air flow from the two or more air sampling devices to the controller via each of the separate first vacuum tubes and to selectively direct the air flow from each of the separate first vacuum tubes to one or more second vacuum tubes. A vacuum source is provided at a location outside the controlled environment and in air flow communication with the controller via the one or more second vacuum tubes, the vacuum source providing suction and being controlled by the controller to generate the air flow through each of the first vacuum tubes.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2018Date of Patent: June 9, 2020Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventors: Rosario Sam Calio, Jeffrey Churchvara

Patent number: 10627324Abstract: A system for tracking one or more subjects for collecting airborne contaminants. The system includes one or more subjects configured to collect air contaminants. Each of the one or more subjects includes an identification tag encoded with identification information identifying the each subject. The system further includes an identification reader configured to decode the identification information encoded within the identification tag of a scanned one of the one or more identification tags. A computer receives and stores the decoded identification information in a record in a database. The computer may also receive and stored an identification code for a user who scanned the scanned identification tag in the record in the database. Additional records in the database are created each time the identification tag of one of the one or more subjects is scanned. The one or more subjects are thereby tracked as they collect airborne contaminants and are incubated.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2019Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventors: Rosario S. Calio, Mark A. Phillips, John Joyce

Patent number: 10571369Abstract: A gas sampler device has a top plate with a concaved outer wall. The concaved outer wall allows users easily to lift the top plate off of the bottom plate without disturbing the bottom plate because the curved surface permits more positive contact between the outer wall and users' fingers. Moreover, the weight of the top plate is reduced by approximately twenty percent compared to conventional top plates, a feature that also makes it easier for users to lift the top plate off of the bottom plate.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 2012Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventor: Arthur L. Vellutato, Jr.

Patent number: 10518793Abstract: A cart transports items between a controlled environment (e.g., a clean room or an airlock to a clean room) and an uncontrolled environment. The cart has a main body that carries the items, and a removable and interchangeable wheel base assembly. A first wheel base assembly is located in the uncontrolled environment and a second wheel base assembly is located in the controlled environment. The user can push the cart (with the first wheel base assembly) up to the second wheel base assembly at the boundary between the controlled environment and the uncontrolled environment. The user then unlocks the main body from the first wheel base assembly, slides the main body onto the second wheel base assembly, and locks the main body to the second wheel base assembly. An autoclavable storage and transport cart can hold several wheel base assemblies.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2015Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Assignee: Veltek Associates, Inc.Inventors: Jeffrey Churchvara, Arthur L.
