  • Patent number: 4422225
Abstract: An apparatus for depositing a moving fiber strand as folded loops into a storage means includes means for taking off a strand arriving at high speed from a delivery means, an intermediate depositing means for decelerating the strand and for releasing the strand in a folded condition so that the strand will deposit by free fall into a storage means. In the intermediate depositing means, the strand is deflected into a zigzag position to form a plurality of folded loops by guide elements provided in the depositing means. These guide elements are arranged so that the size of the loops constantly are increased during the movement of the strand through the depositing means so that unnecessary tension on the strand is reduced or avoided. Additionally, a conveyor drum is provided beneath the intermediate depositing means for further decelerating the fall of the folded loops into the storage means, e.g., a can or like container.

  • Patent number: 4268941
Abstract: A process for the continuous shrinking of textiles includes initially exposing the material to the effect of a hot treatment liquid prior to placing the material on a curved support, and then, to obtain complete shrinkage, allowing the same treatment medium to flow through the material, disposed loosely on the support, and thereafter drying the material and setting the material on a sieve drum under a suction draft. In this process a plurality of twisted yarn threads are shrunk in the wet state together in parallel, side-by-side relationship at temperatures of about 85.degree.-95.degree. C.; the threads are then cooled by cold water and, subsequently, are deposited without tension on a sieve drum subjected to a throughflow of a heated gas to further develop the thus-obtained shrinkage. During this heating step, the threads are initially gradually dried in a cooling temperature range of from 50.degree.-60.degree., compressed, optionally by differences in the speeds of successive sieve drums.

  • Patent number: 4259853
Abstract: An apparatus for treating a length of textile material which has a pile surface includes at least one sieve drum washing bath for washing the entire width of the textile material to even out or level irregularities across the width of the pile surface, a first steamer unit for treating the washed textile material, a dye applicator unit for applying dye to the steamed and washed textile material and a second steamer unit for treating the dye-containing textile material with steam to fix the dye to the textile material. The sieve drum washing bath includes a sieve drum positioned within a container for the treatment liquid and is provided with a plurality of nozzle openings arranged within the container and spaced closely adjacent to the sieve drum for directing the treatment liquid in the form of a plurality of jets across the width of the textile material being supported on the sieve drum.

  • Patent number: 4247294
Abstract: A process for the continuous washing of printed dye-fixed, web-shaped textile material, e.g. woven or knit fabrics formed of natural and/or synthetic fibers, on a full-width washing machine which involves first moistening the textile material, allowing the textile material to dwell in a folded condition, the dewatering of the textile material and immediately thereafter subjecting the textile material to an intensive throughflow from the outside toward the inside of a washing material on a rotating sieve drum. In this process in order to promote the swelling of the printing paste or the like, the textile material dwells in a cold liquor and then a film detachable from the textile material which covers the textile material is removed mechanically and thereafter the textile material is subjected to the intensive throughflow with a hot liquid on the sieve drum.

  • Patent number: 4227317
Abstract: An apparatus for the heat treatment of textile material comprises a plurality of nozzle boxes extending across the operating width at least on one side of the length of material. The nozzle boxes are fed from a front face and have openings discharging in a direction towards the length of material and a fan is disposed at the feed end of these nozzle boxes. The fan is a radial flow fan. It is arranged with its axis of rotation at right angles to the plane of the length of material on the long side of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4101270
Abstract: An improved process for the continuous dyeing or printing of lengths of textile material, especially tufted carpet panels, having backing materials which are subjected to at least partially a change in length during a dye fixation process of the pile portion of the textile material under saturated steam conditions, the process including the step of setting the fibers making up the backing material prior to applying dye to the pile fibers.

  • Patent number: 4070877
Abstract: An apparatus for the continuous steaming of natural and/or synthetic material including textile material or man-made fiber material, e.g. staple fibers, endless material and also synthetic fibers, webs, bonds, yarns and the like, comprising at least one housing shaped similarly to a bell, i.e. a housing formed into a chamber closed all around and open in the downward direction toward a mounting surface, steam producing means and/or steam feeding means being provided in the zone of the sidewalls within said housing; and at least one conveying means for the fibrous material which extends from below into the housing and extends out of the housing again at the bottom thereof.

  • Patent number: 3942695
Abstract: A process for the formation of loops freely suspended over a plurality of supporting means for the conveyance of textile material, particularly web-shaped material, which is sensitive to longitudinal tension through a treatment chamber, e.g. a steamer, slowly traversed by the supporting means, e.g. supporting rollers, supported by an endless conveying means, e.g. an endless conveyor chain includes the steps of maintaining supporting means coming into contact with the material constantly in rotation during the formation of the loops, and effecting the loop formation by the relative motion of successive supporting means with respect to one another.
