Abstract: In embodiments, a tokenization platform that facilitates token-based presales is disclosed. In embodiments, the system includes a token generation system that generates a digital token that is cryptographically linked to virtual representations of an item that is not yet in existence, wherein the token is redeemable for fulfillment of the item after the item comes into existence. The system also includes a marketplace that allows a user to purchase the item before it comes into existence and initiates assignment of the digital token corresponding to the item to an account of the user in response to the user transacting for the item. The system also includes a redemption system that receives a redemption request from the user and, in response to validating that the redeeming user owns the token and the item is in existence, triggers a fulfillment workflow that facilitates fulfillment of the item to the user.
