The method includes determining a display zone (42), allocated by said browsing and display software to the software for reading multimedia streams in order to display a video stream extracted from said multimedia stream, and recording at least one digital image formed by values of the pixels to be displayed in the display zone (42) determined at a given time.

Abstract: A method for providing a licence includes: a step a) wherein a server receives a request including an identifier of a multimedia content and an identifier of a terminal or of a user. The server computes the licence including at least one access data needed by the terminal to access the multimedia content. Before step a), there is a step e) for obtaining a first recommendation list for the user and from the list, obtaining one multimedia content identifier. For each automatically selected identifier, the method includes pre-computing at least one access data, and in a step b), searching for the identifier of the multimedia content received in step a) from among the identifiers automatically selected in the step e). Abstract: A method of identifying a show in a video that has been filmed by a spectator's camera includes selecting a color set to identify the show, recording, in a database, a show identifier associated with a code for the color set, before the show is filmed, inserting, within a scene in which the show is performed, a display-panel set, causing the display-panel set to display the color set without considering scene lighting, thereby raising a likelihood that the camera will capture the displayed color set, once the camera has begun filming a video of the scene, causing a tracer to download an image of the video, to search within the image for the color set associated by the database with the show identifier, and to respond to finding the color set by identifying the filmed show with the aid of the show identifier.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the identification of security processors in a system for delivering protected multimedia content, in which: upon request from an identification device, a network head-end transmits (136) a command to suspend a first identified pre-determined security processor which, in response, switches (136) from an active state to an idle state; the sharing server detects (120) that the first security processor is in the idle state and then transmits (120) access control messages to a second security processor instead of the first security processor; in response to the identification of at least the second security processor, upon request from the identification device, the network head-end transmits (134) a command to re-establish the first security processor, and, subsequently, in response, the first security processor switches (134) from the idle state to the active state.

Abstract: A method for broadcasting protected multimedia content includes, at predetermined intervals, having an access-rights server broadcast each new right of access to the broadcast multimedia content only to those terminals whose logins are included in a broadcast list. In response to a predetermined event, a terminal sends, to the access-rights server, via a point-to-point connection, a status message indicating, to the access-rights server, that the terminal is in its ready state. Alternatively, if the terminal is occupied, it avoids sending a status message. In the absence of reception of the status message that was expected in response to the predetermined event, the access-rights server automatically removes the identifier of the terminal from the broadcast list.

Abstract: A method for accessing protected multimedia includes receiving an encrypted fragment of the multimedia content and receiving a key for decrypting it, using the key to decrypt the fragment, thereby obtaining an unscrambled fragment, replacing original bits of the unscrambled fragment with different substituted bits to obtain a modified fragment, and reconstructing the modified fragment is reconstructed by replacing substituted bits of the extracted modified fragment with the original bits. The resulting reconstructed fragment is then decoded and the resulting decoded fragment is sent to a multimedia appliance to be enjoyed by a human viewer.

Abstract: A Method for supplying protected multimedia content during which a terminal a) acquires a service date from a date server and b) evaluates a temporal criterion of a licence with respect to the last acquired service date. A headend associates with each segment of the multimedia content, its transmission date, and transmits it in a stream together with the segment. The terminal extracts from the stream the date of transmission of the segment, then it compares the extracted transmission date to the last acquired service date. And, only if the extracted transmission date is later than the last acquired service date, acquires it as service date, and uses it as last acquired service date on an execution of the step b) between two successive executions of the step a).

Abstract: Smoothing a workload of a server responding to requests transmitted by terminals includes computing a scheduled date on which the terminal must connect with the server to transmit the request to it, activating the connection based on the date so that the second connection happens on or after it, building a workload schedule for the server according to dates, for each terminal, recording switching between active and inactive states thereof, building, for each terminal, based on the recorded switching, a profile associating, with each coming date, a probability that the terminal is active on that date, and wherein computing the date comprises selecting, based on the workload schedule and the profile, a scheduled date associated, in the workload schedule, with a forecast workload below a first threshold, and, in the profile of use of the terminal, with a probability, above a second threshold, that the terminal is active.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method for setting the level of definition of at least one image of a multimedia programme displayed on a screen of a terminal provided with at least one unit for characterising the multimedia programme and at least one unit for selecting predefined settings. This method comprises the following steps: the characterisation unit automatically acquires metadata attached to said multimedia programme and submits said data to the unit for selecting predefined settings, the unit for selecting predefined settings automatically selects the settings according to pre-recorded rules defined depending on the values of said metadata.

Abstract: A multimedia content processing device for processing multimedia contents implementing a plurality of virtual machines is provided. The device is able to receive encrypted multimedia content, protected by a content protection system, and provide the multimedia content in decrypted form to a user device, including an access controller authorizing the provision of the decrypted multimedia content to the user device, a first securer for executing security services having a first associated level of security and a second securer for executing services having an associated level of security lower than the first level of security.

Abstract: A method for detecting an error in reading a data, includes in a step a) storing a first copy of the data item in a first area of an electronic memory and storing of a second copy of the data item in a second area. Step b) includes reading values of the first and second copies of the data item and in step c) there is a comparison of the read values of the first and second copies of the data item. In step d) if the read values of the first and second copies are identical, then no error is detected. In step e) if the read values of the first and second copies are different, then the method includes repeating steps b) and c). In step f), if the values read in step e) are identical, then an error in the reading of the data item is detected and, otherwise, no error is detected.

Abstract: A method for transmitting and receiving multimedia content having cryptoperiods scrambled by a control word includes a sender using an operating key and an encryption algorithm in a first virtual mother card to encrypt the control word to obtain a cryptogram, using a syntax constructor also in the first virtual mother card to generate an ECM that incorporates the cryptogram, and transmitting it to a terminal. The terminal receives the ECM and using a syntax analyzer contained in a first virtual daughter card associated with the mother card and uses it to locate a position of the cryptogram CW*t in the ECM. Using an operating key of a decryption algorithm in the daughter card, it then decrypts the cryptogram. Then, using the decrypted control word, it proceeds to descramble the cryptoperiod. Meanwhile, the sender occasionally changes the virtual mother card into a different virtual mother card.
