Abstract: A system and method for managing display of database records are provided. The method includes determining whether a pointer is positioned over a data cell of a plurality of data cells of a graphical user interface; in response to receiving an actuation signal related to the pointer while the pointer is determined to be over the data cell, automatically modifying search criteria applied to database data according to the data of the data cell; and automatically outputting the database data filtered by the modified search criteria to the graphical user interface.
Abstract: It is presented a splicing device for replacing video frames in a transport stream. The splicing device comprises a processor; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the splicing device to: receive the transport stream comprising frames of a first program stream and frames of a second program stream, and replace at least one of the frames of the second program stream with frames of a replacement program stored in a storage encoded at a plurality of different bit rates, wherein the frames of the replacement program are selected of from the plurality of different bit rates to comply with a maximum bandwidth of the transport stream.

Abstract: A fail-safe mechanical switch is provided in a television broadcast environment which bypasses an advertisement insertion server in the event that a failure in the ad insertion server is detected. The broadcast stream from a satellite receiver where the stream originates thus continues uninterrupted to a remultiplexer for further distribution of the broadcast stream. The fail-safe switch cooperates with a processor which is capable of detecting a variety of failure events in the ad insertion server.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing commercial advertising in a television broadcast, as well as the management of the sale and/or purchase of time slots for the insertion of audiovisual media, such as a commercial advertisement, are provided. The management includes providing a web-based television advertising marketplace for the sale and purchase of time slots for commercial advertisements in a television broadcast. A central management system also provides for the receipt, conversion, reviewing, scheduling and insertion of the commercial advertisement into a television broadcast stream. Advertisers and broadcasters accessing the systems use a web-based application to manage the entire workflow remotely.
