Abstract: A quick attach door system for enclosing a doorless shelved structure, such as a cabinet, wherein the shelves are supported by a number of apertured uprights which are used to accept the installation of a pair of vertically spaced door support members, each door support member being provided with apertured upright attachment members and with a door supporting structure, the door supporting members having portions extending outwardly of the upright members, a pair of door-halves being supported by the door support members, wherein the door-halves are coupled to the door support members by hinge devices that are retractable to permit installation and removability of the door-halves. The hinge devices can be secured to prevent retractability once the door-halves are shut and locked. Door striker plates serve as door stops when the door is in a closed position and magnets disposed within the door adjacent the door striker plates secure the doors in the closed position.

Abstract: An improved recessing hinge mechanism for doors and the like is comprised of an anchor member slidably supporting an upper end of an arm of a selectively expandable stabilizer device having two cooperative arms pivotably joined to one another at their respective midpoints and pivotably supporting a lower end of the opposite arm, with the ends of the respective arms, opposite those attached to the anchor member, being slidably/pivotably attached to a support/pivot rod, which pivotably carries the pivot edges of a door. For a recessing operation, the door is pivoted about the rod from a closed position to an open position, parallel to the expanded stabilizer device and then linearly moved toward the anchor member, with the scissors-like stabilizer device closing to a minimum dimension so that the support rod stops adjacent to the anchor member. The inventive hinge mechanism provides a ratio of recess depth to door width which is greater than about 1:0.95.
