Abstract: A case for portable electronic devices such as smartphones includes a feature to prevent glare from a flash from affecting images and video captured by a camera lens and also may include a battery to extend battery life of the electronic device. Smartphones have telephony, Internet connectivity, and camera and video features. Photos and video may be uploaded through the Internet or sent to other phones. The case has a hole for a camera flash of the smartphone. The edging of the hole is colored black or another dark color to prevent glare from appearing in the photos or video taken by the smartphone when using the camera flash.

Abstract: A hybrid frame sleeve case for a portable electronic device is disclosed herein. The portable electronic device may be a laptop computer, a tablet, or another portable electronic device. The case may include flexible panels, such as neoprene or fabric panels, attached to an elastic polymer frame, such as ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA). The elastic polymer frame extends around a perimeter of the sleeve to provide cushioning or padding for the side edges of the sleeve. A magnetic latch or other latch may be used to secure an opening on one side of the sleeve. The case may optionally include a charging system that allows the portable electronic device to be charged while housed in the case or otherwise positioned to allow charging by the charging system.

Each panel is independent and separate from the other and each is formed as a unitary component of a molded resilient polymer material, such as polycarbonate, that is configured to reversibly and retentively snap-fit over the outer surface of the laptop computer. Each panel includes a raised lip along its perimeter edge region that defines an internally extending recessed region on the panel's outer surface. Fabric and/or leather overlays are positioned, sized, and adhesively coupled atop the recessed regions and are protected from delaminating, fraying, and/or peeling by the raised perimeter lip.

The front cover includes a touch screen cover and a rigid plastic front frame bonded to a perimeter of the touch screen cover. Front cover engagement members extend from the rigid plastic front frame that engage the back frame engagement members to bold the front cover on the back frame and enclose the device.
