  • Patent number: 9251782
Abstract: A method for identifying an optimal crossing point for concatenation of speech samples within an overlap area is provided. The method includes retrieving a first speech sample and a second speech sample, the second speech sample is concatenated immediately after the first speech sample is concatenated; determining a first region within the ending of the first speech sample and a second region within the beginning of the second speech sample, the first region and the second region are determined respective of relatively high spectral similarity over time between the first speech sample and the second speech sample; identifying an overlap region between the first region and the second region; determining an optimal crossing point between the first speech sample and the second speech sample, the optimal crossing point has a maximum correlation over time; and concatenating the first speech sample and the second speech sample at the optimal crossing point.

  • Publication number: 20140236597
Abstract: A system and method for supervised creation of a speech samples library for text-to speech synthesis are provided. The method includes tracking at least one speech unit in an existing speech samples library to determine if the existing speech samples library achieves a desired quality; receiving at least one speech sample; analyzing the at least one received speech sample to identify at least one speech unit necessitated to obtain the desired quality of the speech samples library; and storing the at least one necessary speech unit in the speech samples library.

  • Publication number: 20130085759
Abstract: A method for converting translating text into speech with a speech sample library is provided. The method comprises converting translating an input text to a sequence of triphones; determining musical parameters of each phoneme in the sequence of triphones; detecting, in the speech sample library, speech segments having at least the determined musical parameters; and concatenating the detected speech segments.

  • Patent number: 8340967
Abstract: A method of recording speech for use in a speech samples library. In an exemplary embodiment, the method comprises recording a speaker pronouncing a phoneme with musical parameters characterizing pronunciation of another phoneme by the same or another speaker. For example, in one embodiment the method comprises: providing a recording of a first speaker pronouncing a first phoneme in a phonemic context. The pronunciation is characterized by some musical parameters. A second reader, who may be the same as the first reader, is then recorded pronouncing a second phoneme (different from the first phoneme) with the musical parameters that characterizes pronunciation of the first phoneme by the first speaker. The recordings made by the second reader are used for compiling a speech samples library.
