Patents Assigned to VJ Technologies
  • Patent number: 8993827
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the stabilization and safe removal of buried waste that is tested and classified as being transuranic or not transuranic waste and disposed accordingly. The buried waste (usually in vertical pipe units) is enclosed in a casing and ground and mixed with the surrounding soil. This process allows for chemical reactions to occur that stabilizes the mixture. The entire process is contained within the casing to avoid contamination. In situ or external testing is done for radio isotopes to classify the waste. If it is classified as transuranic the waste is removed in a controlled way into a retrieval enclosure and disposed off in drums. If the waste is not transuranic then grout is introduced into the mixture, allowed to set and the resulting monolith is removed and buried in trenches.

  • Patent number: 7656997
Abstract: A system and method for automatic digital radiographic inspection of piping in which a radiation source and radiation detector are mounted on an inner carriage that rotates concentrically inside an outer carriage and both carriages are placed externally to the piping during operation. A rotating system is provided to cause the inner carriage to rotate completely around the piping. A positioning system is provided for moving the outer carriage longitudinally on the piping. A balancing system is provided such that any tilting of the system during its longitudinal movement on the piping is corrected. In operation, the system is placed on the piping and the rotating system causes the inner carriage to rotate around the piping. After one complete rotation is ensured the positioning system moves the assembly in a longitudinal direction on the piping.

  • Patent number: 7627083
Abstract: A system and method for automatic digital radiographic inspection of round aerospace parts (18) and irregularly shaped aerospace parts (19) includes a radiation source (14) and a radiation detector (16) located on opposite sides of the aerospace part to receive the radiation from the radiation source. In operation the radiation source and the radiation detector are manipulated by a robot (10) in six independent axes of motion. The aerospace part is rotated by a part manipulator (20) to provide the seventh axis of motion and the aerospace part is tilted to provide the eighth axis of motion. This allows every portion of the aerospace part to be examined. The radiation detector converts the impinging radiation into electrical signals and the system generates the radiographic images and archives these images.
