  • Patent number: 9955261
Abstract: A method and apparatus for adjusting a cross-over frequency of a loudspeaker system. The loudspeaker system includes at least a first loudspeaker for frequencies below the cross-over frequency and a second loudspeaker for frequencies above the cross-over frequency. A level of the first loudspeaker is matched with the second loudspeaker using a first test signal and a room response is compensated in the loudspeaker system on the basis of the first test signal. The compensated room response is measured using a second test signal. A maximum frequency for the first loudspeaker and a minimum frequency for the second loudspeaker are determined. A cross-over frequency that results in a minimum cumulative total harmonic distortion energy at one or more sound pressure levels is searched between the minimum and maximum frequency.

  • Patent number: 7672809
Abstract: Object tracking using ultrasonic signals. A receiver receives a signal transmitted from a transmitter. The receiver uses at least two receiving elements for forming at least two analysis signals on the basis of the received signal. The receiver includes a detector, such as a phase detector, which examines the analysis signals and forms an indication on a difference between the analysis signals. The indication is, for example, indicative of a phase difference between the analysis signals. The transmitted signal is a modulated ultrasonic signal, wherein the receiver demodulates the signal to recover the modulating signal. The indication can be used to determine a heading angle information of the object to be tracked. The heading angle information may be a direction of the object with respect to the transmitter. The heading angle information can be used to make e.g. a corrective action to audio signals to be formed for listening.

  • Publication number: 20080043822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for generating at least one code phase (Ce, Cp, Ci) the device comprising a shift register (702) comprising N outputs and to which a code sequence (Cin) to be phased is applied, and at least one logic branch (722, 723, 724) controlled by at least one combination control signal on the basis of which the logic branch combines the code phase from i outputs of the shift register (702). N is an integer greater than 2 and i is an integer between 2 and N. Said at least one logic branch preferably comprises i two-input selectors (901 to 909, 911 to 919, 921 to 929), to the first input of each of which is connected one input of the shift register (702) and to the second input is connected one combination control signal (ec0 to ec8, pc0 to pc8, lc0 to lc8), and an i-input combiner (910, 920, 930), to whose outputs are connected the outputs of said i selectors and from whose output said code phase is obtained.

  • Patent number: 6161120
Abstract: The present invention relates to arithmetical computing devices, and especially to a division operation in three-dimensional (3D) graphics. A division f(a,b)=a/b is calculated by an integrated division circuit. In order to decrease the chip area and calculation time needed, the bit width of the divider and the dividend is reduced by preprocessing. Firstly, the scaling factor is searched in basis of the divider. Then both the divider and divident are scaled by the single scaling factor. Division is then done with these shrunk bit vectors.

  • Patent number: 6088033
Abstract: A pixel processing apparatus receives pixels from an external source (100) and stores them in a storage area (110). A data path (120) performs mathematical operations and tests whether or not a pixel is to be suppressed. For an effective memory access, a control logic (130) provides addresses to the storage area (110). The control logic (130) receives status data from the data path (120), indicating whether or not a pixel is to be suppressed and modifies the status register (140) accordingly. The control logic (130) prevents the data path (120) from performing further operations on a pixel if the status register (140) indicates that the pixel is to be suppressed. Preferably, the control logic suppresses address generation for the location of the pixel in question if said status register (140) indicates that the pixel is to be suppressed.
