Publication number: 20130049437Abstract: A mining system and components for conveyance of mined material. The system may include a continuous miner, a series of one or more conveyor carts, and a loader, coupled in series. The loader may include a first end to be connected to the second end of the series of carts, a feeder assembly proximate to the first end of the loader and also having a first end and a second end, and an elevator at the second end of the feeder assembly. The feeder assembly may include a plurality of spaced paddles connected to endless chains. The paddles convey mined material through a bin and to the elevator. Carts may be stackable, with leg supports of an upper cart being received on the side rails of an adjacent lower cart. Couplings include male and female connectors that couple when advanced toward each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2011Publication date: February 28, 2013Applicant: VT LEEBOY, INC.Inventors: Ralph E. Whitley, Bill Wilkens, Keith Lee, Benjamine Gary Causby

Patent number: 8308394Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems and methods implemented in a pothole patching system for creating a vacuum that pulls heavy particulate, such as gravel, out of a hopper. For example, according to an embodiment, a vacuum body having a vacuum chamber formed therein is positioned proximate to an opening of the hopper. A moveable slide gate is provided between the vacuum chamber and the opening of the hopper. The slide gate moves between open and closed positions for permitting and blocking communication between the vacuum chamber and the hopper. A reduction nozzle is provided between an air source and the vacuum chamber. Forced air flows from the air source, through the reduction nozzle, and into the vacuum chamber. The reduction nozzle reduces the pressure of the forced air entering the vacuum chamber, and thereby creates a vacuum in the vacuum chamber. When the slide gate is in the open position, this vacuum pulls particulate from the hopper.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2010Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: VT LeeBoy, Inc.Inventor: Ralph E. Whitley

Patent number: 7244077Abstract: An auger/cut off assembly for a floating screed asphalt paver. The auger/cut off assembly consists of an auger mechanism with an axis of rotation and a cut off mechanism. The cut off mechanism has a concave cut off panel that rotates about the axis of the auger mechanism from an open strike off position to a closed cut off position. Because the concave cut off panel closely conforms to a portion of the circumference of the auger mechanism, the cut off mechanism provides for low ground clearance. The concave cut off panel serves the dual function of striking off the paving material when in the open strike off position and cutting off the deposit of paving material when in the closed cut off position.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2004Date of Patent: July 17, 2007Assignee: VT Leeboy, Inc.Inventors: William Michael Lee, Eric Craig Lee
