  • Patent number: 11071198
Abstract: A highly integrated miniature radiometer chip includes a base board with opposing top and bottom etched metal layers to form interconnect and ground pads, and a cavity to provide space for surface mounted parts that are attached to the bottom of a middle board which mounts directly over the top of the base board. The middle board has radio frequency circuits and semiconductor chips at a top metal layer, and surface mounted parts, and ground and signal pads at a bottom metal layer. Metalized vias extending through the dielectric material connect the top and bottom layers. A top cover includes a feedhorn, a waveguide section, and isolation compartments and channels that overlie the RF circuits on the middle board. A dielectric insert is located inside the feedhorn to enhance the feedhorn performance and seal the radiometer chip from external air, humidity and contaminants.

  • Patent number: 11031685
Abstract: An aircraft nose radome has a first portion that is transparent to X band microwave energy, and a second portion that is transparent to W band microwave energy. The second portion may be an insert that is secured to the radome at an opening formed therein. The insert may have a multi-layer structure with first, second and third layers, a fourth layer of foam between the first and second layers, and a fifth layer of foam between the second and third layers. The insert may include a plurality of spaced-apart, elongated reinforcing members or ribs between the first and second layers and between the second and third layers that extend along a longitudinal direction defined by the insert. The insert may have a serrated cross-sectional configuration.

  • Patent number: 10336462
Abstract: Vehicle navigation methods, systems and computer program products are provided that create a composite video image of a scene from video images of the scene generated by a plurality of video image sensors. The video image from each image sensor includes a respective array of pixels. The composite video image is created by selecting for a composite image pixel at a given position in an array of composite image pixels a pixel at the given position from one of the respective pixel arrays having the highest signal level or highest signal-to-noise ratio. The selecting is repeatedly performed for a plurality of given positions in the array of composite image pixels. The composite video image can be displayed via a display, such as a head-up display utilized in a vehicle.
