  • Patent number: 7877882
Abstract: A method is disclosed for measuring the threads of standard and metric female thread bolt and standard and metric male thread nut of must commonly used nuts and bolts and the screw diameters in sizes #0 to #14. A separate set of plug gauges and ring gauges match the thread sizes of both the said standard female and metric female thread bolt gauge sizes. Separate standard and metric thread nut thread sizes are present in separate plug and ring gauges to provide ready gauges to measure threads of bolts and nuts not conveniently measure by plug and ring gauges mounted on a display wall structure for protection of the said gauges for dirt and contaminants. The wall mounted display structure provides an immediately available device for checking thread sizes of nuts and bolts.

  • Patent number: 6007677
Abstract: Apparatus for continuously processing wood product formed from random lengths of wood strips assembled in face-to-face relationship with heat curable adhesive applied to adjacent contacting faces of the strips includes a pair of opposed, parallel, linear arrays of electrically insulative blocks, the linear arrays of blocks having inner, confronting faces spaced apart transversely to define an elongated, longitudinally extending press zone into which the product is adapted to be fed. A drive motor is coupled to each linear block array for moving the arrays in the same direction in unison to thereby advance the stock in the press zone. An adhesive RF curing zone substantially coextensive with the press zone is defined by the inner confronting faces of the block arrays and first and second elongated, parallel RF electrodes disposed between the confronting inner faces of the block arrays.

  • Patent number: 6003448
Abstract: In accordance with one exemplary embodiment of the invention, there is provided a wooden pallet having parallel ends, parallel sides, a top deck for receiving a load and a bottom deck parallel with the top deck. The pallet further includes at least two continuous stringers between the top and bottom decks to maintain said decks in spaced relationship, the stringers extending longitudinally between the ends of the pallet and wherein each stringer is constructed of continuous wood stock assembled from face laminated, glued scrap wood strips of random length. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, at least one of the decks comprises a plurality of parallel, spaced apart boards extending transversely between the sides of the pallet and wherein each board is constructed of wood stock assembled from face laminated glued scrap wood strips of random length.

  • Patent number: 4916889
Abstract: A towed mower having a rectangular frame and a pair of diagonally related blade spindles is described. The mower of the present invention includes both a wide side and a narrow side and an associated shroud assembly. A pair of blade spindles each carry a rotary mower blade covered by the shroud assembly. The mower may be used in either a wide mode or a narrow mode and the preferred embodiment provides an arrangement of parts for easy retorientation between the wide and narrow modes. Separate outlet doors are provided for both the wide side and the narrow side on the shroud assembly and hitch-engaging posts are disposed at each corner of the mower frame to engage a pair of wheel suspension arms and a pair of hitch-engaging brackets. The hitch-engaging brackets and the wheel suspension arms are secured to the posts in a manner which allows ready removal and/or pivoting of the suspension arm or the hitch-engaging bracket so that the mower may be re-oriented from the wide mode to the narrow mode and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 4213408
Abstract: An agricultural implement is disclosed which is adapted to perform soil ripping, mixing, and seed planting behind a single prime mover. Soil ripping is accomplished by a parabolic pointed shank attached to a frame by a pivot bolt and secured by a shear bolt to provide release in the event that an essentially immovable object is struck. Attached to the same framework behind the shank is a pair of mixer wheels for tilling the furrowed soil, and attached behind the mixer wheels is a press pan for smoothing the soil into a seed bed, followed by a seed planter of conventional construction connected to a rear planter bar supported by gauge wheels.

  • Patent number: 4131077
Abstract: A method of attaching a slide fastener from a continuous chain to a garment or other article by a pair of stitching threads each running longitudinally along a respective one of the fastener tapes, at least one of the stitching threads continuing transversely across the slide fastener to form a bottom stop and to attach the fastener tapes together and to the article for reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 4103562
Abstract: In an apparatus for sewing articles, such as sewing a slide fastener chain to an opening in an article, stitching of thread to an article is initiated by a manual control and is terminated by an automatic control in response to the sensing of a terminal point, such as the terminal point of an opening, on the article.Article guiding facilities urge folded edge portions of an article toward each other by spring biased members on folding plates.A scroll for receiving and guiding a folded edge portion of an article has an adjustable channel.A linear motion apparatus, such as a dual needle holding mechanism, employs a linear motor driving a camming member which engages a locking member on a movable member to move the movable member to a selected position and to operate the locking member.
