  • Patent number: 10053079
Abstract: To effect redundant signal processing of a safety-relevant application, such as for a safety control unit of a motor vehicle, at least two redundant signals are fed from at least one sensor to an electronic circuit assembly as input signals for processing. At least one input signal is converted into a different test signal. In the electronic circuit assembly, the input signals are fed to a first peripheral module of a microcontroller, and the test signal is fed to an additional peripheral module. The sensor information of the input signals and of the test signal are thus redundantly processed independently of each other in a respective peripheral module of the microcontroller.

  • Patent number: 10046761
Abstract: To determine an activation criterion for outputting brake signals to a vehicle brake system at least one object in the environment of the vehicle is detected. A determination is made whether the vehicle is on a collision course with the object. If so, at least one avoidance criterion is determined, wherein an S-shaped avoidance trajectory of the vehicle is determined, from which at least one extreme value of a lateral acceleration of the vehicle is determined. The extreme value is compared with at least one threshold value. The avoidance criterion is met if the associated extreme value falls below the threshold value, and the activation criterion for the brake application is not met as long as the avoidance criterion is met.

  • Patent number: 9988057
Abstract: A method for determining the mass m of a motor vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, is based on the principles of power mechanics. In order to determine the vehicle mass in a simple way as accurately as possible while driving, a speed v of the motor vehicle is determined and a drive power PA of the motor vehicle is determined. The mass m of the motor vehicle can then be determined from the speed v and the drive power PA. A device applies such a method, and a motor vehicle includes such a device.

  • Patent number: 9969370
Abstract: In a method for warning a vehicle driver of a risk of the vehicle overturning about its longitudinal axis, a control device detects the current transverse acceleration of the vehicle and emits a warning signal based thereon when a risk of overturning is presented. The warning signal is dependent upon at least one transverse acceleration value, which is critical for overturning, detected by the control device while the vehicle is being driven, and a measurement of the transverse acceleration of the vehicle at which the vehicle would actually overturn about its longitudinal axis. The transverse acceleration value that is critical for overturning is determined automatically based on the vehicle behavior exhibited during driving on a curve.

  • Patent number: 9950702
Abstract: In a method for stabilizing the driving behavior of a tractor-trailer combination, a tilting inclination variable is obtained and a tilting limit is determined on the basis of the tilting inclination variable and is prescribed to a vehicle movement dynamics control system. A vehicle movement dynamics control device carries out the method. In order to improve the stabilization of the driving behavior of tractor-trailer combinations with different loads of the individual vehicles, the respective tilting inclination variable is determined at a plurality of vehicles of the tractor-trailer combination, and the value of the tilting inclination variable for the determination of the tilting limit which is decisive for the determination of the tilting limit is obtained from the tilting inclination variables.

  • Patent number: 9951897
Abstract: An elastic seal element seals a fluid passage between a first component and a second component from the surroundings, the fluid passage passing through the seal element. The seal element has a first bead, which provides a sealing line to sealingly contact the first component around the fluid passage.
