  • Patent number: 5531288
Abstract: The present invention teaches an activation apparatus for a differential pawl. Such activation apparatus is designed to prevent damage to components of the differential pawl and/or of the drive train resulting from operator error. When a drive wheel slips, a monitoring means acquires a slip signal; and when a wheel slip signal is present, an interrupt means, which can be provided as a switching apparatus, prevents the preassurization of a pressure-medium-operated actuator of the activation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5469358
Abstract: A method is provided for the generation of wheel acceleration control signals and wheel deceleration control signals for an anti-lock system for wheels of a vehicle. The vehicle is furnished with a digital electronic anti-lock system with at least one microprocessor. The microprocessor calculates a wheel comparison speed (v.sub.diff). The wheel comparison speed is obtained by a filtering of the actual wheel speed (v.sub.wheel), and follows in time to the actual wheel speed (v.sub.wheel). A deceleration signal (-b) or an acceleration signal (+b), respectively, is then furnished when the absolute value of the difference (.DELTA.) between the wheel comparison speed (v.sub.diff) and the actual wheel speed (v.sub.wheel) surpasses a preset value as based on the sign of the difference (.DELTA.).

  • Patent number: 5400649
Abstract: An apparatus is furnished for sensing the tire pressure and for generating a signal by way of an actuator. If the tire pressure drops below the predetermined reference tire pressure, then this is signalled immediately and instantly within a relatively small pressure tolerance threshold. The pressure sensitive device 1 includes a valve device 7. The valve device 7 connects the tire pressure, applied to the actuator 4 and acting against the force of the compression spring 6, to the atmosphere if the tire pressure drops below a predetermined reference tire pressure. The apparatus is suitable for generating a permanent signal, even in case no further pressure remains in a tire.

  • Patent number: 5294190
Abstract: A brake system with at least one brake circuit comprises a mechanical brake-pressure control device and an electrical brake-pressure control device. The brake system is constructed without additional expenditure and by use of a mechanical brake-pressure control device and by an electrical control valve device. The system is constructed such that the brake-pressure modulator (8) of the electrical brake-pressure control device (6, 8, 11, 19) can also be controlled by pressure. The brake-pressure modulator (8) meters the brake pressure, both on the strength of the supplied electrical signal as well as according to the value level of the fed-in redundant brake pressure. The control electronics (11, 19) of the electrical brake-pressure control device (6, 8, 11, 19) is constructed such that it sets the strength of the electrical signal to a value required for covering and for meeting the respective brake-pressure demand request.

  • Patent number: 5255962
Abstract: An electronic brake system for road vehicles includes a decentrally formed electronic device and at least one central module. The central module includes at least one microprocessor with its individual intelligence. A module (1, 2, 3, 4) is coordinated in each case to a respective wheel. • Patent number: 5253931
Abstract: An automatic control logic for an anti-lock protected vehicle braking plants is provided for all-terrain operation. In this case, the standard automatic control logic for road operation is switched, by the driver with an all-terrain switch (13) to a special automatic control logic for all-terrain operation. The special automatic control logic generates time periods, during which a short-term blocking of the automatically controlled wheels (12) is intentionally permitted. The locking time periods have a time duration of about 240 ms. The braking distance of the vehicle in cross-country terrain is shortened while a sufficient cornering force remains based on the all-terrain automatic control logic.

  • Patent number: 5251966
Abstract: A method for the braking of a vehicle train with pressure-actuated brakes and arrangements for performing this method are disclosed. The prior art shows that, because of a different rapid build-up of a braking pressure in the various rigid vehicles of a vehicle train, there occurs an overrun shock during adjustment transition shifting braking phases. According to one embodiment of the invention, there is furnished a lead and predominance by a predetermined value in the co-braking signal furnished from the one rigid vehicle to the second rigid vehicle of a vehicle train. According to a further embodiment, a predominance by a predetermined amount in the braking pressure in the second vehicle versus the co-braking signal is furnished, if during the preceding brake application actuation the overrun shock has surpassed a preset tolerance width. The invention can be applied in particular for vehicle trains made up of a motor vehicle and one or several trailers or semitrailers.

  • Patent number: 5230243
Abstract: The tire surveillance device of the invention includes a pressure measurement member, where the signal of the pressure measurement member is corrective dependent on the temperature and evaluation unit actuated by the resulting signal. The correction member (21, 34) is disposed such that it is exposed to the temperature prevailing outside of the tire (1).
