Abstract: A hydrodynamic fishing device includes a plate that changes attitude as the plate passes through a body of water. A plate positioning controller is pivotally mounted to the plate and is indexable relative to the plate by direct application of manual force so as to assume a plurality of predetermined adjustment positions. The adjustment positions establish different paths of travel of the plate as the plate passes through a body of water.
Abstract: A coupling system suitable for use with a transmission cable is described. The system includes a rotary electrical coupling operably connected to a cable reel assembly having a main body and a reel rotatably mounted to the main body for winding the transmission cable. The rotary electrical coupling provides for the transmission of electrical signals and power between the cable on the reel and a vessel. The rotary electrical coupling includes a rolling electrical contact bearing.
Abstract: An underwater viewing system suitable for providing images of an area around an underwater lure is described. The system includes a video camera coupled, via a cable, to a display. The cable has a plurality of electrical leads twisted about, and electrically isolated from, each other. Surrounding the electrical leads is an outer shield comprised of a plurality of stainless steel strands. The shield, and thus the cable, has an outer diameter less than 0.070 inches.
Abstract: A coupling system suitable for use with a transmission cable is described. The system includes a contact unit operably connected to a reel assembly having a base and a reel rotatably mounted to the base for winding the transmission cable. The contact unit provides for the transmission of electrical signals and power between the cable and a vessel as the cable is wound onto the reel.
Abstract: A coupling system suitable for use with a transmission cable is described. The system includes a tongue and a connector housing coupled to a cinch. The connector housing is generally cylindrical. The connector housing defines an open bore adapted to receive the cable and has an aperture at one end of the housing. The cinch is attached to the connector housing and has two walls that diverge from each other and the housing aperture. The tongue is adapted to wedge the cable between the cinch walls and outer peripheral surface of the tongue.
