Abstract: An improved dynamic seal for a water powered waste disposer to increase operating efficiency under low water pressure conditions. The rotatable drive ring within the disposer is sealed between the water powered piston chamber and the waste cutting chamber. This seal comprises a thin band of sheet material secured to the drive ring and provides the desired sealing effect due, in part, to the water pressure in the piston chamber.
Abstract: An on/off valve, preferably of the ball type, with an anti-siphon feature. The valve has concentric opposite direction flow with open structured support elements to maintain the inlet tube properly positioned within the elongated housing. A cup-shaped poppet-type float valve prevents fluid from spraying out of air vents upon opening of the ball valve. The control valve is particularly adapted for indoor use.
Abstract: A coupling device for coupling a waste disposer unit to a sink, including a drain conduit with a flange for fitting against the sink and a collar having external threads positioned over the conduit. A locking ring is in threaded engagement with the collar for retaining the drain conduit securely to the sink. A resilient sealing ring is positioned over the bottom of the conduit and the top of the disposer and securing means is placed over the sealing ring to hold the assembly together.
