Patents Assigned to Webster Electric Company, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4836240
Abstract: An improved compact pilot-assisted pressure relief valve is disclosed. The invention includes a vent piston or the like hydraulically dividing the valve body bore into a hydraulic fluid chamber and a spring chamber which is vented to atmosphere, such that backpressure is eliminated entirely for both faster reaction to pressure impulses and improved accuracy in pre-load setting of the valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 4746776
Abstract: An improved float-actuated switching assembly, having a pusher (92) linked to a float (14), a movable carrier member (16), preferably a pivotable cam, having upper and lower brackets (78 and 80) between which the pusher moves, first and second stops (18 and 20) to limit carrier movement, a contact member (22) on the carrier positioned to contact the stops, and magnets (88 and 90) to releasably hold the contact against a stop as the pusher moves toward and applies initial force to one of the brackets. Increasing force caused by continuing float movement eventually breaks the magnetic force such that the carrier moves quickly to actuate a switch element (26) preferably through a cam follower (96).

  • Patent number: 4668930
Abstract: A high voltage transformer includes at least one secondary coil mounted on an insulating support assembly and having the start lead of the secondary coil disposed proximate to the transformer core with a finish lead disposed at the perimeter of the coil. The finish lead is connected to ground potential and the start lead is provided at the high voltage potential of the transformer, thereby minimizing the insulation requirements of the transformer. The insulating support assembly for the secondary coil includes flanges at the opposite ends thereof to define a winding space for the secondary coil. Each of the flanges includes a channel formed therein for providing a passageway for the high voltage start lead of the secondary coil that extends from the inside layer of the secondary coil to above the edge of the flange. The flange also has a recess that extends between the opposite edges thereof for receiving and insulating sheet member.

  • Patent number: 4386395
Abstract: A power supply for electrostatic apparatus provides a high voltage output. The high voltage output is provided by the half wave rectification and filtering of a pulse signal from a secondary winding of a high voltage pulse transformer. The primary winding side of the high voltage pulse transformer is connected in a series loop circuit with a capacitor and a switching device. The capacitor is charged through an input choke connected to a DC supply source. The switching device is triggered after the capacitor is charged such that the capacitor is discharged through the primary winding of the high voltage transformer. The inductive collapse of the high voltage output transformer provides for the turnoff of the switching device and also serves to partially recharge the capacitor. The half wave rectified high voltage output of the power supply is obtained from the recovery pulse of the high voltage pulse transformer.

  • Patent number: 4089171
Abstract: A hydraulic power circuit for operating hydraulic motors at several speeds includes first and second fluid sources and a valve assembly for combining flow from the second source with flow from the first source as a faster motor speed is required. The valve assembly includes a first valve controlling the flow of fluid from the first source to the motors while a slow motor speed is required. The valve assembly also includes a fluid actuated valve controlling the flow of fluid from the second source to the motors as a faster motor speed is required. The fluid actuated valve is actuated by flow from the first source through metering ducts. Once the fluid actuated valve is actuated, fluid from the second source is mixed with fluid from the first source and the valve assembly communicates the increased flow to the motors thus obtaining a faster motor speed.
