Abstract: A dental post is provided having an upper portion and a lower portion. The lower portion has cylindrical sections of differing diameters. Grooves formed on the section walls form cutting surfaces on the post and serve as vents for cement introduced into a canal of a tooth. The post functions both as a bur and as a dental post.

Abstract: A dental post having a top section and a lower section is provided wherein the lower section has a plurality of subsections. The subsections have a progressively reduced effective diameter in vertical direction away from the top section.

Abstract: An alarm system is provided for a card shaped object comprising a holder for the card shaped object and a detecting apparatus for detecting the absence of the card shaped object from the holder and a device transmitter. The transmitter device sends a signal to a component remote from the holder and a transmitter device. The transmitter device sends a signal to a component remote from the holder which contains a receiver of the signal and an adjustable alarm. A resettable timer is positioned either in the holder or in the component remote from the holder so that, after a set time period, is activated in response to the signal.

Abstract: A periodontal packing device is provided comprising a plate having two through holes for a thread. A second set of holes can be provided for packing material. The thread is passed through the two through holes to form a thread loop adjacent one surface of the plate and two ends which are tied together adjacent a second surface of the plate.

Abstract: A dental post-dental implant system is provided wherein the post is provided with a circumferential collar that mates with an upper portion of a circumferential wall of the implant. The circumferential collar resists expansion of the implant after being positioned in a patient.

Abstract: A dental implant is provided for insertion into the jawbone of a patient for the purpose of building a dental prosthesis thereon. The implant includes a central hole having a wall with first extension for accommodating a dental post having a second extension that frictionally interlock with the first extension. A core can be provided which includes a second central hole having a wall with a third extension for accommodating a dental post having a fourth extension that frictionally interlocks with the third extension.

Abstract: A dental post is provided comprising a top section and a stem with a slot which extends lengthwise through the stem to form a plurality of legs. The legs have wings attached thereto which fit into indentations in a wall of a tooth bore. Kits are provided comprising the dental post and burs for forming a tooth bore to accommodate the dental post and optionally a core for supporting a tooth crown, a template for forming holes in a tooth stub and a key for providing support for the core.

Abstract: A dental post is provided including a stem and a flange secured to an intermediate vertical position on said stem to delineate a top stem section and a bottom stem section. A support can be positioned to connect the flange with the top stem section. The flange can be provided with through holes or pins formed integrally therewith.

Abstract: A dental post is provided comprising a bottom section with cutting projections and a stem section. The cutting projections cut paths into the root canal walls to provide retention and anti rotation. A disk may be included which has projections on the bottom which cut pathways into the top of the root for optimal post support and root fracture resistance.

Abstract: A dental implant is provided for insertion into the jawbone of a patient for the purpose of building a dental prosthesis thereon. The implant includes a central hole for accommodating a dental post having slots and/or a key structure. The dental post slots fit over wings or allow wings/key structures to pass through in order effect retention while avoiding rotation of the positioned post.
