  • Publication number: 20200232948
Abstract: A system for detecting the presence of bubbles in a solution includes an ultrasonic receiver, receiving a pair of signals having different frequencies after passage through the solution, and a computing unit. The computing unit computes a signal value for each of the signals, the signal value representing a defined signal property, compares the signal values for the signals with each other and/or each with a predefined reference value, and computes a deviation of the signal values from each other and/or between the signal values and the predefined reference value. The computing unit generates a bubble confirmation signal that confirms the presence of bubbles in the solution if the deviation is greater than a predefined threshold value.

  • Patent number: 10337375
Abstract: A suction tube for a urea sensor installed in a urea tank comprises a suction pipe and a cover. The suction pipe has a suction opening and a hole extending through a wall of the suction pipe. The cover is disposed on an outside of the suction pipe and covers the hole. When there is an under-pressure in the suction pipe compared to the urea tank, the cover abuts the suction pipe and seals the hole. When there is an overpressure in the suction pipe compared to the urea tank, the cover deforms and allows an excess urea solution to escape through the hole and flow back into the urea tank.

  • Publication number: 20190107513
Abstract: An assembly for determining a type of a fluid, the assembly configured to be mounted to a tank containing the fluid, comprises an ultrasound sending/receiving subassembly and a processor module. The ultrasound sending/receiving subassembly is configured to send a plurality of ultrasound signals into the fluid and receive the ultrasound signals reflected from the fluid. An ultrasound signal of the plurality of ultrasound signals has at least a first frequency and a second frequency different from the first frequency. The processor module is adapted to determine an attenuation of the ultrasound signal at the first frequency and at the second frequency.

  • Patent number: 9151736
Abstract: An apparatus (100) for measuring quality of a urea solution is operated with at least a portion of the apparatus inserted into the urea solution. The apparatus (100) includes a configuration of sensors (180, 190, 200) for measuring mechanical and electrical properties within a volume of the urea solution, the measurements of mechanical and electrical properties being mutually differently influenced by components present in the urea solution. A data processing arrangement (230) of the apparatus (100) is operable to process the measurements of mechanical and electrical properties for generating output data (120) indicative of a quality of the urea solution. The apparatus (100) is also capable of being adapted to measure qualities of other types of solution.
