  • Patent number: 5076100
Abstract: A magnetostrictive transducer measuring system for precisely measuring the liquid level of fuel in an underground tank. The system provides for the measurement of the position of one or more transducer magnets in a tube that are positioned along a length of the transducer wire therein, with one of the magnets fixed in the tube to provide a reference position. A current pulse is applied to the transducer wire and sonic pulses are simultaneously produced through the interaction of the magnetic field of the transducer wire and the fields of the magnets. The sonic pulses are detected by a sensor and the time interval between the detected sonic pulses is determined to determine the distance between the magnets.

  • Patent number: 4829164
Abstract: A counter employs a barrel for rotatably mounting high order counter wheels and a shaft integrally extending from the barrel for mounting the lowest order counter wheel. The barrel forms a groove in which the transfer pinion assembly is located. The walls of the groove are engageable by the pinion assembly to limit skewing of the pinion assembly components. The transfer pinions are configured to prevent axial jamming displacement against the counter wheels. The lowest order wheel is snapped onto the shaft and secured in position by means of a semi-flexible mounting hub and cooperative shaft detents. The counter forms an efficient internal light path for illumination of the counter.

  • Patent number: 4787278
Abstract: In a tool bit driver, a body suitable for mounting on a square drive of a socket wrench is provided with a bit socket adapted for receiving a tool bit at one end of the body, and diametrically opposed grooves are formed to extend longitudinally within the socket. A spring is provided with resilient fingers seated within the socket grooves, and reversely bent ends are formed on each spring finger for engaging the bit in surface-to-surface contact for positively and releasably securing the bit in a driving position within the socket.

  • Patent number: 4726215
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for stamping or printing identification indicia on a circular segment such as the flat portion of the head of a cap screw, bearing race, or stud end. The adjustable diameter stamp uses a plurality of segments which, when fitted together, form a cylinder or other polygonal shape which is held securely in a matching collet during the stamping operation. Variable diameter stamping is accomplished by using different sized stamping segments. Also, shims may be used to provide marking diameter adjustment. The preferred embodiment uses four wedge-shaped stamping segments.
