The compression flaps are used to gather and hide excess dry suit materials and dry zipper ends under the compression flaps. The compression flaps form a tunnel around the wearer under which a kayak spray skirt or a kite boarding/surfboarding harness can be worn.

Abstract: An adjustable circumference seal includes an envelope having an outer layer and an inner layer, with the inner layer defining a sealing surface. A circumferential closure is provided for constricting the inner layer of the envelope and thereby adjusting a circumference of the inner layer of the envelope. The closure includes a band having a first end and a second end, with a first cord guide at the first end and a second cord guide at the second end. A cord is threaded from the outer layer through a cord channel in the envelope, through the first cord guide of the band, through the second cord guide of the band and back through the cord channel. By pulling the cord, the circumference of the inner layer of the envelope is reduced until the sealing surface is brought into a sealing engagement. A cord lock for maintains the cord in a selected position.

Abstract: A roll seal assembly for use on a dry suit for diving and other applications where water-tight sealing of garments is demanded. The seal joins a first tubular body to a second tubular body. The first tubular body has an extension comprising a third tubular body. The second tubular body has an extension comprising a fourth tubular body. The roll seal is formed by connecting the open ends of the third and fourth extensions using a fastener and then rolling the fastened ends over a stiff but pliable band.

Abstract: A thermal insulating garment for an underwater diving suit has an inner insulating layer or thermal core and an outer elastomeric layer. The inner thermal core layer is larger than the outer layer. The inner thermal core thermal layer is temporarily fixed to the outer elastomeric layer by fastening means such as a hook and loop system. A zipper may be disposed between the two shoulders of the garment and across the chest of the garment to permit the top portion of the garment to be removed and permit diver entry and egress into the dry suit. There is a lamination seal at the ankles, wrists and collar of the garment.

More particularly, this invention pertains to a novel dry-suit design which has a smooth captive shell and concealed pleats for improved dry-suit functionality. A dry-suit comprising: (a) a hollow element-proof fabric formed in the shape of a human body including two arms, two legs and a torso; (b) first and second inwardly extending pleats formed in each of the two legs; and (c) first and second elastic element-proof fabric panels covering the respective first and second pleats and sealed around the periphery with the surrounding adjacent regions of the element-proof fabric of the dry-suit.
