  • Patent number: 3956717
Abstract: A hybrid diplexing filter for use in CATV systems and the like, having a pair of high pass filters and a pair of low pass filters connected in an electrical bridge circuit with a common port, a high pass port and a low pass port connected at appropriate nodes. Impedance compensation means is included within the high pass filter which connects between the common port and the high pass port, for compensating the diplexing filter for the effects of unwanted stray capacitances. In a preferred embodiment, impedance compensation is accomplished by a phase inversion transformer having a predetermined amount of leakage inductance. A power passing port, power blocking means and rf isolation means are also connected to the bridge circuit so that 60 cycle power may be passed from the common port through the filter to the power passing port without upsetting the signal handling properties of the hybrid diplexing filter. A preferred physical realization of the subject circuit is also disclosed.
