  • Patent number: 6732564
Abstract: An American style press brake tool and tool holder having a safety key. The holder has a body with walls defining a downwardly open, tool receiving recess having a top, a downwardly facing force-delivering shoulder adjacent the bottom of said recess, and a shelf within said recess having an upwardly facing surface spaced upwardly from said force-delivering shoulder. The tool comprises a body having a lower work-engaging surface, an upwardly facing force-receiving shoulder engageable with the shoulder of the tool holder, and an upwardly extending tang receivable in said recess, the upper end of the tang being spaced from the top of the recess. A manually operable actuator is spaced below said force-receiving shoulder, and a safety key is coupled to the actuator for movement horizontally into and out of alignment with the shelf between locked and unlocked positions, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5022256
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device for the clamping of at least one piece of tooling, for instance an upper tooling or a press, which device comprises:two clamping jaws moveable towards and away from one another, between which the tooling can be clamped, pressure means, for instance at least one hydraulic cylinder for pressing the clamping jaws towards one another with force at energizing thereof, andat least one locking element present between the clamping jaws for co-action with an edge present on the tooling, such that the tooling in the absence of energizing of the pressure means can be pushed with at least one edge over the locking element, hook over the edge, and thus prevents the tool from falling, and is characterized in thata resilient strip, which is attached between the clamping jaws to one clamping jaw and which as a result of its own resilience lies in untensioned state at a distance from a pressure surface of this clamping jaw, whereby in the absence of energizing of the pressure means, the

  • Patent number: 5009098
Abstract: A press that includes a frame which bears a bending device that includes an upper tool and a lower tool which can be moved in a mutually reciprocal manner. The press also includes a curve-forming element for forming a curve on the bending device. The curve-forming element has curve-forming members slidable over each other in a lengthwise direction and a transverse direction and making contact with each other. The contact surface of the curve-forming members in the lengthwise direction and the transverse direction of the bending device possess the respective determined angles of slope .alpha. and .beta.. The press has an element for adjusting the curve-forming members in the lengthwise direction and the transverse direction, wherein the curve-forming members adjoining each other at the sides preferably form a curve-forming strip which extends substantially over the whole length ofthe bending device. This curve-forming strip is preferably provided with a number of discrete contact surfaces.
