Abstract: Method for producing a cell sensor system for the definition of quality criteria during the production of materials, characterised by the following method steps: a) cultivation of first cells of a specific type under standardised culture conditions (control group), b) cultivation of second cells of the specific type on/in/between different materials to be tested (test group), c) harvesting of the cells, d) determination of the gene activities of the cells of the control group and of the cells of the test group, e) comparison of the gene activities of the test group with the control group, f) identification of the genes for which there is a difference in the gene activities between the control group and the test group, g) construction of a microarray using the identified genes with different gene activity as the gene profile, this created microarray being defined as the standard for the specific cell type, and h) provision of third cells of the specific cell type as cell sensor.

  • Patent number: 6955278
Abstract: A dispenser includes an improved closure arrangement for sealing the dispenser in such a manner that oxidation of the paste-like product to be dispensed is avoided. The main headpiece is spring biased upwardly toward a first position relative to the container and to the product delivery piston, whereupon the upper end surface of the piston is spaced a given distance from the headpiece, and a cylindrical bearing surface on the headpiece closes the product supply outlets contained in the piston. When the main headpiece is depressed downwardly by the given distance toward an intermediate second position in which the headpiece engages the adjacent piston end surface, the bearing surface on the main headpiece is displaced downwardly to open the piston outlets.

  • Patent number: 6875223
Abstract: A lancet for the extraction of blood includes a base portion of plastics material, a lancet needle of a metallic material held in the base portion and having a pointed end section protruding from the base portion, a head portion of plastics material integrally connected to the base portion by a preset breaking zone, and cooperating cam means on the base and head portions. The head portion can be removed from the base portion thereby exposing the pointed end section of the lancet needle by exerting a rotational force to one of the base and head portions relative to the other. The lancet needle is embedded in the head portion prior to the removal thereof. The cam means comprises pairs of cooperating cam sections on the base and head portions engaging with each other upon relative rotation between these portions for creating an axial movement of the head portion relative to the base portion thereby causing a rupture of the preset breaking zone.
