  • Patent number: 4166352
Abstract: A hay-making machine having a plurality of rotary rakes thereon which are rotatably driven about generally vertical axes or rotation. The hay-making machine is supported by a plurality of wheels to facilitate its movement relative to the ground. The hay-making machine is connected by a hitch mechanism to a tractor and the rotary rakes are driven by a shaft connection to the power take-off equipment on the tractor. The hay-making machine is comprised of a main frame and auxiliary frames. The main frame is pivotally secured to the hitch and the auxiliary frame is connected pivotally to the main frame to compensate for variations in ground irregularities. Telescoping shafts are utilized on the machine to facilitate a change in length between the rotary rake members and the hitch as the hay-making machine moves relative to the ground.

  • Patent number: 4062174
Abstract: A hay-making machine having rakes supported on a frame for rotation about a generally vertical axis. The tines of the rotary rake are secured on tine carrier arms which extend outwardly from an axis of rotation for the rotary rake and are rotatable with the tine carrier arm about the longitudinal axis therefor. A control lever is mounted on the inner end of the tine carrier arms. A cam roller is mounted on the control lever and engages a cam pathway mounted on the frame of the machine. The tines on the tine carrier arm are secured to a tine carrier part which is pivotal relative to the tine carrier arm about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tine carrier arm. The pivoting action of the tine carrier part facilitates a reversal of the tines to further facilitate a movement of the rotary rake in an opposite direction of rotation about the generally vertical axis of rotation. A locking mechanism is provided to secure the tine carrier part in two positions spaced approximately 180.degree.

  • Patent number: 4026093
Abstract: Hay-raking machine having a plurality of raking means rotatable on vertical axes. The invention relates to the type of hay rake having a plurality, as four, vertically rotatable raking devices supported by ground wheels and connectible to a tractor, as by a conventional three-point attachment means. Frame structure for supporting said raking devices provides for convenient and efficient positioning by an operator without his leaving the tractor seat for adjusting the raking means through a plurality of desired operating positions as well as for moving the raking means into an appropriately compact position for transport of same. Positive drive means are provided for driving from the power output shaft of the tractor for driving said rakes, same being arranged, however, so as to not inhibit moving said rakes into a compact body for transport purposes and at the same time when said rakes are so positioned, to terminate the driving thereof.

  • Patent number: 4011912
Abstract: Harvesting machine for ground vegetables, such as turnips. In such machine, there is provided an unearthing component including a pair of share halves which cooperate to comprise an unearthing share. A driven conveyor element is positioned directly above said unearthing share for moving unearthed vegetables onto other means such as a grating. The conveyor means comprise a generally disk-shaped base having a plurality of arms extending generally radially therefrom. Said arms are mounted in cylindrical housings fixed with respect to said disk and on one side thereof. Each of said arms extends first radially from said housing, then generally axially of said disk to a point adjacent the other side thereof, then again radially and angled in the normal direction of travel of said harvesting machine and terminating with a reverse bend.
