  • Patent number: 7761967
Abstract: A method of assembling a metal shore post of a concrete forming assembly is disclosed. An outer telescoping tube is provided that has a main section with a first inside diameter and top portion with a section having a second inside diameter reduced relative to the first inside diameter of the outer tube. An inner telescoping tube is inserted for telescopic movement inside the outer tube. After assembly, a pair of pistons are inserted through access holes in the outer tube to provide a crushing force to the inner tube deforming it to create a region of increased diameter that is greater than that of the reduced diameter section but not so large as to prevent telescopic movement of the inner tube inside the outer tube. The increased dimension region thereby prevents accidental separation of the inner tube from the assembly, thereby improving safety and efficiency. Openings are provided in the inner tube in the region being crushed in order to control the region of deformation.

  • Patent number: 7210664
Abstract: Supplemental bridging straps are used to increase the strength of a flexible metal concrete form assembly. A metal form has a flexible panel member with a perimetral flange projected laterally from one side thereof. Each of a pair of transversely opposite side sections of the flange is segmented by a plurality of longitudinally spaced V-shaped notches having their apices adjacent the one side of the panel member to provide for a lateral flexing movement of the panel member to a preselected shape. With the panel member in the predetermined shape, the segments in each of the flange side sections are connected together against relative movement to retain the predetermined shape of the panel member. In a first preferred embodiment, each flange segment is connected to an adjacent flange segment by a flexible metal strap. In a second preferred embodiment, extended flexible metal straps are used to interconnect a central flange segment to each of the pair of adjacent flange segments.

  • Patent number: 6581898
Abstract: Modular concrete form components which, when assembled into large wall form assemblies are sufficiently strong to resist the bending forces applied during picking and placing of the wall form assemblies without the need for the attachment of additional or external stiffening members. A bearing block is secured to a stiffener that runs along the back side of the form component adjacent a perimeter flange of the form component.

  • Patent number: 6502802
Abstract: A corner form assembly for forming inside corners of concrete structures. A pair of double bias form components, each of which has an acute angle between a side rail and the face sheet are arranged with the side rails in contact engagement to form a form assembly with an inside angle equal to twice the acute angle of the side rails. A reverse bias coupler is used to join the double bias form components with conventional wall form panels having 90° end rails. The corner assembly acts to release the forces imposed on the components by the poured concrete upon disassembly and so allows the components to be readily stripped from the poured wall.

  • Patent number: 6447201
Abstract: A load relief coupling device which interconnects a lower, supporting member and an upper, supported member of a concrete forming apparatus to permit quick and easy relief of the load on the members by a formed concrete structure. The load relief coupler includes a supporting coupler member, a supported coupler member, and an inner coupler member positioned between the supporting and supported coupler member. Coacting teeth on the inner coupler member and on the supporting and supported coupler members cause the coupler to move between a loaded, expanded position and an unloaded, collapsed position upon relative pivotal movement between the inner coupler member and the two supporting and supported coupler members.

  • Publication number: 20020109070
Abstract: A shoring post for a support apparatus includes an extruded hollow tubular body member having a longitudinal axis and a first, longitudinally extended projection integrally formed with the body member and projecting generally radially outwardly therefrom. The projection includes a profile having a clamping engagement channel running longitudinally on a first side thereof. A second longitudinally extended projection is integrally formed with the body member and projects generally radially outwardly therefrom and is spaced from a second side of the first projection. It also has a profile that is symmetrically reversed from the profile of the first projection about a plane of symmetry that is defined by the longitudinal axis of the body member and a midline between said projections thereby also forming a clamping engagement channel running longitudinally along a first side.

  • Patent number: 6322277
Abstract: A clamp for interconnecting two components of a support apparatus such as components of a shoring apparatus for concrete foaming systems. A clamp member having swill, arm jaw is received for pivotal movement in a housing that is secured to one of the components. A plurality of flutes disposed at an angle to the pivot axis of the clamp member are received in coacting recesses in the housing. Axial movement of the clamp member will pivot the swing arm and a coacting, moveable jaw toward a fixed jaw formed in the housing to releasably secure the clamp to the other component.

  • Patent number: 5806266
Abstract: A beam member for use in construction, particularly as a waler in concrete form assemblies, and a method of producing the same. The beam member is flexible to a preselected curvilinear shape and adapted to be held in said preselected curvilinear shape, and includes a flexible face and a plurality of flange members secured to and upstanding from the flexible face, the flange members being arranged side-to-side in two rows, one each of which rows is adjacent a corresponding one of opposing sides of the flexible face. Each of the flanges has a terminal end section extended parallel to the flexible face and is separated from an adjacent flange by a distance which increases from the attachment of the flange at the flexible face to said terminal end section whereby the beam member is laterally flexibly movable to conform to a preselected curvilinear shape. A strap is secured to the terminal end section of the flanges to maintain the preselected curvilinear shape of the beam member.
