  • Patent number: 3969868
Abstract: A sandwich panel multi-sided structure mountable on a vehicle body, as a pick-up truck or trailer. The structure is formed from a single flat sandwich panel comprising a bendable sheet metal facing and a rigid plywood facing bonded to opposite sides of a plastic foam core. The core is a compressible expanded polystyrene foam. The panel is provided with spaced pairs of transverse grooves extended through the rigid plywood facing toward the bendable metal facing. The grooves are along the corner sections and divide the panel into a roof section and opposite side sections. The side sections have openings for receiving window structures. The structure is formed by bending the sheet metal facing and compressing the core along the corner sections to form a roof converging outwardly and downwardly from a longitudinal ridge and upright side walls. The back of the pick-up cover is closed with an end wall having a door.

  • Patent number: 3955846
Abstract: A reversible seat located in a vehicle for seating passengers in a forward direction or alternatively in a rearward direction. The seat apparatus has a frame carrying a backrest cushion and a seat cushion. Two pairs of legs attach the frame to a support secured to the floor of the vehicle. A releasable lock assembly has upright support members which engage pins in the legs to hold the frame in a first seating position and in a second seating position. A release arm connected to one of the legs is operable on application of force thereto to move the members from the pins whereby the frame can be moved to its second seating position.

  • Patent number: 3941180
Abstract: A sectional door such as a garage door of the type having a plurality of hingedly connected panels adapted to be pivoted relative to one another generally about interior edges of facing lateral ends during opening and closure of the door. One of each pair of facing ends of the panels is equipped with a first rail having a front wall and defining an interior pocket. The facing end of the adjacent panel is equipped with a second rail having an arcuate segment extending into the pocket of the first rail in overlapping relationship to the front wall thereof when the adjacent panels are in aligned orientation. When the adjacent panels are pivoted relative to one another generally about their interior edges, the arcuate segment of the second rail moves outward of the pocket of the first rail to span the angular gap formed between the facing ends of the adjacent panels.
