In order to seal the inflowing brewing water against the environment at the connecting point between the housing and the brewing chamber in a simple, economical and wear-resistant manner without complex locking mechanisms being needed, a seal is inserted into the upper part of the brewing chamber, wherein the seal and the connection region are automatically pressed together when the brewing chamber is inserted into the machine such that the connecting point between the connection region and the upper part of the brewing chamber is sealed against the environment.

Abstract: Described is a coffee machine (1) comprising a brewing member (5, 5′), a support surface (15) for ground coffee and a member (3, 6, 7) for applying water to the ground coffee, in which it is possible to level off the ground coffee positioned on the support surface (15) in a constructionally simple and generally applicable manner to obtain a layer having a substantially uniform thickness. To this end there is provided a member (22, 24, 25, 122, 222, 322) which guides water in a purposefully non-uniform manner over the ground coffee such that the ground coffee is distributed over the support surface (15) in a layer having a substantially uniform thickness.

Abstract: A brewing means (1) for a coffee machine with a brewing chamber (3) is described, which is disposed in a housing (2) provided with an opening (9) on a front side. The opening (9) can be closed by means of a closing element (10) sealed against the opening. A hot water line (11) is furthermore provided, which supplies hot brewing water to the brewing chamber (3) under pressure and supports at the same time the sealing of the opening (9). In order to design such a brewing means (1) in such fashion that the service life of the seal (21) can be increased, it is suggested that the seal (21) comprises a flexible membrane disposed between a sealing chamber (22) connected to the hot water line (11) and a sealing seat (19), which can be arched and pressed against the sealing seat by means of the pressure.

Abstract: A steam pressure cooker (1) is described, which is provided with a lid (2) and a pressure relief valve (8), comprising a valve seat (7a), a valve body (9) adapted to have a load applied thereto in the direction of the valve seat (7a) by means of a spring (11) and an adjustable spring abutment (12), which is adapted to be displaced from an operative position in which the valve body (9) is pressed onto the valve seat (7a) to a steam-discharge position in which the valve body (9) is relieved of the load to such an extent that the steam can escape and which, for the purpose of cleaning, can be removed from the lid (2) to such an extent that the pressure relief valve (8) is freely accessible.
