Abstract: A hand-held screwdriver assembly having interchangeable blades which are held within a hollow handle and are available to be selected and moved through a cross-slot in a cap assembly on the handle to a stop position, and then to be secured in a chuck for use. Rotation of the cap assembly is prevented when the blade is secured in the chuck, thus precluding the introduction of a second blade into the cross-slot.
Abstract: An apparatus for securing a workpiece comprising first and second clamp members, a transportable elongate member to which the clamp members are mounted for being shifted between clamped and unclamped positions to allow a clamped workpiece to be transported, and a base having a base securing mechanism for securing the base to a work surface and an elongate member securing mechanism which allows the transportable elongate member to be connected in a fixed position relative to the base to keep the secured workpiece fixed relative to the work surface. With this configuration, the elongate member and clamp members may be used in conjunction with the base and/or removed from the base and used remotely thereto.
Abstract: An adjustable handle assembly is provided for use with a hand-held power tool, such as a polisher, to enhance control while operating on delicate surfaces of varying contours. The handle assembly includes a handle mounted to the housing of the tool in a manner that facilitates quick adjustment of the handle between various predetermined positions relative to the housing without the use of tools, turning of nuts and bolts and prolonged work stoppage. The handle assembly also includes lock members on one of the handle and the housing and lock receiving grooves on the other of the handle and housing which can cooperate with the lock members to fix the handle in one of the predetermined positions relative to the housing.

Abstract: A tool-carrying assembly to be secured by a waist-encircling belt, and, additionally, by straps encircling the legs of a workman using the belt assembly. The assembly is thus stabilized, and enhanced weight distribution is achieved. Elements of the belt assembly include a waist-encircling band supporting a pair of laterally spaced, depending panels each carrying tool-accepting pockets. The pockets preferably carry visual markings and coding as well as other indicia identifying clearly the specific tools to be “housed” or carried in and to be returned to each pocket after use. Inventory control of the tools is thereby significantly enhanced. Pivotal flaps depending from the band-carried panels serve to cover the tools when not in use, and to prevent the tools from scratching or otherwise marring any article, or fixture, or “workpiece” requiring the workman's attention.

Abstract: Disclosed is a ratchet wrench having a drive head and a handle, the latter defining an elongate body. The body of the wrench is formed with a series of through cavities which are sized in steps for releasibly holding a series of correspondingly sized sockets. The sockets are retained in place frictionally by means of elastomeric inserts carried by and positioned to project inwardly of exposed annular side walls which define the cavities. Conveniently, the stored sockets may be forcibly expelled from the cavities in either of two opposed axial directions. For ready visual identification, markings are provided on the body of the wrench indicating the specific size of each socket-receiving cavity. The described features of the ratchet wrench also enable one quickly to verify the socket size, and allow socket placement over a fastener without requiring that the socket itself be first removed from the tool handle.
