Abstract: A multi-position sleeping structure includes a sheet material envelope defining a cavity with an opening. An inflatable mattress is received and substantially enclosed within the cavity of the sheet material envelope. A cover portion which, in conjunction with a top surface of the envelope, defines a sleeping area in which a person can lie and be supported by the mattress. The mattress has a plurality of transversely extending hinges that separate the mattress into a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The hinges allow the mattress to be moved between at least a substantially horizontal sleeping position and a seating position. The sheet material envelope has a retaining pouch to retain the mattress in the seating position. The retaining pouch is suitably sized and positioned to receive the mattress and sheet material envelope therein for storage purposes when the mattress is in the deflated storage condition.

Abstract: The present invention provides a convertible blanket comprising a blanket 1 made of fabric material and a pocket 2 into which the blanket can be stowed to create a cushion or pillow. The blanket may also include a zip fastener around its edge to convert the blanket into a sleeping bag. Preferably the pocket is of a shape that provides an amusement object for a child when it is stuffed with the blanket, for example, it may resemble a stuffed animal, an object such as a crown or football, or a cartoon character.

The sleeping means typically comprise a deformable mattress which is inflatable and which can be located within with an envelope formed of sheet material and, attached to the sheet material is a cover portion which, with the sheet material of the mattress define a sleeping area into which a person can move. The cover portion can be permanently attached to the sleeping means but further edges of the same can be selectively attached using zips or other fastening means. An additional portion of sheet material can be provided which can be selectively used to act as a storage pocket.

Abstract: A storage device is provided which includes at least first and second frames and a plurality of support members for maintaining the first and second frames at a spaced distance apart. The support members and frames define the shape of the storage device, and sheet material depends between the first and second frames and the support members to form side walls of the device. The device is movable between a flattened condition and an erect condition by user manipulation of the frames. This user manipulation includes rotating the frames relative to each other to twist the device and move the device between the flattened and erected conditions. When the device is in the collapsed or erect conditions, the support members are substantially straight.

Abstract: A collapsible storage device is provided comprising a resilient frame and sheet material with respect to which the frame is located. The resilient frame and sheet material form the side walls of the device and are movable between a flattened condition and an erected condition to which the resilient frame is biased. At one end of the device there is provided a base and at the other end there is provided an opening. The opening is provided with a single closure element which has a first part attached to one side of the opening and a leading edge which can be moved about a pivotal point between a position at the said one side of the opening so that the storage device is open and a position at or in contact with the other side of the opening to close the opening. The closure element is movable with the storage device between flattened and erected conditions.

Abstract: A storage device (2) comprising a resilient frame (6) held in a housing with respect to sheet material, the resilient frame (6) and sheet material forming the sidewalls (4) of the device (2). The resilient frame (6) is movable between a flattened condition in which the resilient frame (6) is compressed and an erected condition to which the resilient frame (6) is biased. At one end of the device there is provided a base (8) and at the other end there is provided an opening (10) with closure means 11. The closure means (11), when moved to a closed position in one embodiment extend away from the opening and in all embodiments do not require any storage space in the device to be left unused.

Abstract: A collapsible fabric structure is described having two wall members, each having a coilable frame. When the structure is expanded, each frame forms a loop defining a pair of opposed sides. To collapse the wall members, each frame is coiled into three loops. To exert a separating force between the two wall members, an elongate arch forming member is provided having a pair of free ends, each connected to one of the wall members. The arch forming member is preferably a glass reinforced epoxy rod having helically wound fiber at its surface. The surface may take the form of a pyramid, cube or playhouse.
