The treads are configured to provide a working surface upon which personnel can stand, sit or kneel and upon which materials can be placed. An extension member is connected to one end of the rails. Each extension member includes a locking member and a stop. Each locking member includes a first arm, a second arm and a third arm. In an open position, the third arm is in contact with the stop and in a closed position, the second arm is in contact with the stop.
