  • Publication number: 20120293995
Abstract: A light assembly, and an associated method, for illuminating a target. Light energy is generated by a plurality of LED light sources that are mounted on a substrate. Light energy generated by the LED light sources is caused to be projected towards a central focal area. The substrate is folded into a concave-shaped configuration, and the light energy generated by the LED lights is caused to be projected towards the central focal area, permitting focusing of the light energy.

  • Publication number: 20120098434
Abstract: A light assembly, and an associated method, provides color-mixed light generated by light emitter diode elements. A temperature sensor is position to sense temperature levels proximate to the LED light-emitter elements. And, a coolant flow generator is configured in a feedback arrangement to generate coolant fluid to dissipate thermal energy generated during operation of the LED elements to maintain the temperature levels at a constant temperature or within an allowable range.

  • Patent number: 7845833
Abstract: A light dimming apparatus for dimming light output generated by a light source. A rectangular frame supports sets of blade members at a central aperture defined by the frame. The blade members of a set are positioned side-by-side, and adjacent ones of the blade members are hingedly connected together. Accordion-like movement of the blade members is provided responsive to application of forces applied to the blade members. A component of the applied forces causes linear translation of the blade members in to or out of the central aperture.

  • Patent number: 7163317
Abstract: Color-changing apparatus, and an associated method, for a lighting assembly. One or more dichroic filters are selectably positioned in the path of a light beam generated by a light source. A positioner supportively positions the dichroic filter and effectuates its translation into and out of the path of the light beam. A set of dichroic filters, each separately supported by a separate actuating positioner permits a combination of dichroic filters to be combined to cause the light color of the light beam to be of any desired color.

  • Patent number: 6461021
Abstract: A reflector-positioning apparatus, and an associated method, for a lighting assembly. Rotational forces are generated and applied to rotatable ring members. Rotation of the ring members is transduced to tilt and pan movements, as desired, of the reflector.

  • Patent number: 6055753
Abstract: A media scroll, and an associated method, formed of a plurality of media frames, in which the media scroll is formed of any selected number of media frames. A media display assembly of which the media scroll forms a portions supportively displays a media frame, or a sequence of media frames, at a display position. The media scroll is formed in a manner permitting substitution of media frames and permits addition of additional media frames thereto.

  • Patent number: 6034473
Abstract: A lighting system for projecting a beam of light has a light source and a concave reflector having a central axis. The center of the light source is located at a position other than at the focal point of the reflector, i.e. between the reflector surface and the focal point of the reflector for an ellipsoidal reflector and forward of the focal point for a parabolic reflector. This placement provides a greater light output than is achievable by positioning the light source at the focal point of the reflector. The preferred light source is an improved lamp having an incandescent filament having a central linear helical portion aligned with a central axis of the reflector and a peripheral helix portion around the central portion so as to concentrate the emission of light along and about the central axis of the filament.

  • Patent number: 5504477
Abstract: A performer tracking system, and an associated method, for tracking movements of at least one performer upon a stage. A plurality of signal transmitters are positioned about the stage and transmit electromagnetic signals. Performers on the stage carry transponders which receive the electromagnetic signals and, responsive thereto, generate coded sound signals. Sound signal receivers positioned together with the signal transmitters receive the sound signals. A controller determines positions of the transponders and, hence, the performers carrying the transponders and causes spotlights to track the performers.
