Abstract: The present invention provides reversibly crosslinked polymers and methods for producing and using the same. In particular, reversibly crosslinked polymers of the invention comprise polyesters comprising thiol groups as crosslinking moieties. Oxidation of thiol groups affords crosslinked polymer comprising a disulfide linkage and reduction of the disulfide linkage provides non-crosslinked polymer. In some embodiments, polymers of the invention are degradable and are biocompatible.
Abstract: The present invention provides bis(hydroxyalkyl)mercaptosuccinates of the formula: and derivatives thereof, where X1, X2, Z1, Z2, Y1, Y2, Ra, Rb, R1, and R2 are those defined herein. The present invention also provides methods for producing and using the same.
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for treating various microbial infections using a compound of the formula: or an isomer, tautomer, prodrug or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein Y, R3, R4, R5, R6, and a are those defined herein.
