  • Patent number: 4352259
Abstract: An inflatable movable ceiling or partition is installed in a greenhouse to limit the interior volume of the greenhouse which must be heated by artificial means. The tubes are inflatable transparent plastic tubes, which are arranged longitudinally in the greenhouse, and when inflated form a complete false ceiling partition. When the tubes are deflated, they may be pushed back to lie against the sides of the greenhouse. The ceiling or partition is formed of adjacent cylindrical inflatable tubes which are in fluid communication by means of an inventive jumper system which forms an airtight seal between adjacent members. The jumpers may be installed at the time the system is installed in the greenhouse and the ends of the cylinders sealed by wire ties or they may be taped.

  • Patent number: 4117636
Abstract: A plastic covered gutter connected greenhouse structure comprised of metal framing covered by superimposed layers of plastic sheets having an inflated area between the sheets providing insulation to the interior of the structure. The superimposed plastic sheets of adjacent greenhouses are secured to the gutter which inter-connects the same. In this respect, the outer edges of the gutters provide male and female elements having mating V-shaped sections provided with inter-fitting splines on opposing surfaces thereof between which the plastic sheets are clamped. The male and female members are fitted so that screw members which maintain the parts in assembly are threaded through an outer flange of the female member and are perpendicular to the inter-fitting splines.

  • Patent number: 3930344
Abstract: A plastic covered building structure comprised of a metal frame supporting superimposed layers of plastic sheets having an inflated area between the sheets providing insulation to the interior of the structure. The superimposed plastic sheets are secured to the frame by means of longitudinally extending rails having longitudinally extending upwardly concave portions and complementary clamping rods adapted to secure the edges of the superimposed plastic sheets between the rods and the upwardly concave portions of the rail. The rails are adapted to receive clamping members at any point along the length of the rails to clamp the rods into the upwardly concave portions.
