Patent number: 8449136Abstract: A handheld searchlight for producing a high intensity beam of light output has an elongated housing including a handle portion for gripping by a user. A head has a window opening for transmitting a light beam. There is a mechanical coupling between the housing and the head. A parabolic reflector is mounted in the head facing the window and has an aperture for accommodating a high intensity lamp. The reflector has a longitudinal optical axis. The rotation of the head about the coupling causes movement of the parabolic reflector relative to the lamp along the optical axis thereby changing a spread of the high-intensity light beam. The searchlight further includes a rotatable bezel ring mounted on the head and a filter ring mount connected to the rotatable bezel. An optical filter is mounted in the filter ring mount.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2012Date of Patent: May 28, 2013Assignee: Xenonics Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Gary Palmer, Jeffrey Kennedy

Publication number: 20130038733Abstract: A night vision system for use in a vehicle includes a night vision device configured as a handheld monocular device. A mount for coupling the night vision device to the vehicle includes a mounting plate configured for attachment at an attachment point in the interior of the vehicle, a coupling assembly coupled to the mounting plate and coupled to a quick release plate of a quick release mechanism, the coupling assembly configured to permit adjustment of orientation of a mounted night vision device in elevation and azimuth. The quick release mechanism is configured to allow one-handed removal of the night vision device from the mount. Image data captured by the night vision device may be communicated through a communications link to a display device in the vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2011Publication date: February 14, 2013Applicant: XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Gary Palmer, Jeffrey P. Publication number: 20120314403Abstract: A long range illumination system includes a handheld illumination device, includes a housing having an elongated body and a head coupled to one end. A switch disposed on an outer surface of the housing receives an input from a user. At least one power source supplies electrical power to the handheld illumination device. A lamp produces high intensity light for illumination. The lamp is disposed within a parabolic reflector having an aperture and movable about an optical axis of symmetry relative to the lamp for projecting a high intensity beam. A green optical filter moveably mounted to the head is substantially covers an end of the reflector in a first position, and does not cover the end of the reflector in a second position. A processor is configured to receive the input signal and causes an output power level to said lamp based on the input signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2011Publication date: December 13, 2012Applicant: XENONICS HOLDINGS, INC.Inventors: Jeffrey P.
