Abstract: A protective improvement on a collapsible umbrella includes a driving cord directly penetrating a base for connecting to an upper accommodation. The driving cord has its one end fixed to a pulley tackle and its other end fixed to the upper accommodation. A spacer is axially disposed inside a part of the through hole O and extends along an elongated direction of the through hole O for dividing up the part of the through hole O into two half through holes H's, and for separating the driving cord from the pulling cord to facilitate an independent and non-overlapping working space of the driving cord and the pulling cord.
