Abstract: The jewel holding device of the present invention comprises a claw section 4 for engaging with the crown 17 and the table 16 of a facet-cut jewel 14, an engaging, section 11 for engaging with the pavilion 21, a support seat 9 for supporting the region near the culet 20, and a contact avoiding section 7 for avoiding contact with the girdle 22; and these elements are integrally formed. The contact avoiding section 7 is formed into an arc or arcuate shape and is capable of being elastically deformed when holding the jewel 14. Viewed from the direction looking into the table 16, the end 5 of the claw section 4 engaging with the table 16 is positioned at the outer side of the support seat 9 at the lower conical section of the jewel 14.

Abstract: A joint member for use in an accessory comprises a linking section 11 and a receiving link section 12 being linked to this linking section 11, wherein the linking section 11 linked to a receiving link section 12 comprises a body 13, a C-shaped hooking portion 14 integrally provided on one end of the main body 13, a rotational opening/closing body 16 pivotally attached to the body 13, a spring 17 for imparting spring force in the direction separating the front terminus of the rotational opening/closing body 16 from the main body 13, a rotational limiting means for holding the front terminus of the rotational opening/closing body 16 at the closed position of an engaging/disengaging portion 15 and for limiting the rotation in the direction separating the front terminus of the rotational opening/closing body 16 from the main body 13, and the receiving link section 12 includes a receiving hook section 19 being hooked onto the C-shaped hooking portion 14.
