  • Patent number: 6425484
Abstract: In a parts storing tape, a first stepped part which has the predetermined height and is more extended than the other inner side faces of a recessed part in the width direction and the longitudinal direction of the above parts storing tape is provided at each corner part of the recessed part. Thereby, even if the corner part of a storing part is more projecting outside than the other peripheral part, the above storing part can be supported without that its corner parts contact or stick in the inner side faces of the parts storing tape by each of the first stepped parts. At the same time, in a tape-shaped parts package, a tape-shaped cover and a parts packaging apparatus, projecting parts which have resilience and are elastic in the direction of thickness of the above tape-shaped cover are provided or can be provided respectively corresponding to each recessed part of the parts storing tape on the surface opposite to the parts storing tape of the tape-shaped cover.

  • Patent number: 5800772
Abstract: A tape as unwound from a roll is passed through a preheater where it is preheated, and then heated to the softening temperature of the tape material by a main heater. The tape having ceased to retain its flat configuration due to being softened will drape over and come into close contact with generally the entire side surfaces of convex molds except for those portions of the tape located between adjacent convex molds. The tape thus generally brought into close contact with the convex molds continues to be moved with a rotating drum and is exposed to vacuum drawn through the slits formed at the roots of the opposed side walls of the convex molds while it is urged against a drum by the hold-down roller whereby those portions of the tape remote from the convex molds and located between adjacent convex molds are drawn into close contact with the front and back surfaces of the convex molds.

  • Patent number: 5499717
Abstract: An embossed carrier tape system includes a carrier tape having formed therein a number of pockets spaced at equal intervals longitudinally of the carrier tape for accommodating surface mountable electronic parts. A cover tape extends along the length of the carrier tape in superposition thereover on the side where the pocket opening is provided. The cover tape is provided with an engagement wall adapted to be in contact engagement with the inner walls of the corresponding pockets, and is further provided with a buffer (8) expandable longitudinally of the cover tape and extending transversely of the length of the cover tape at locations over the web portions of the carrier tape between adjacent pockets, whereby the need for adhesively bonding the cover tape and the carrier tape is eliminated.
